BALLER4LIFE

G-League
So here we are. August 4th and the only move worth mentioning is the kings signing of salmons. salmons is a good player but the kings need more if they want to be a contender. I have been loging on to kingsfans.com and every other sight every day since the end of the season hoping to hear some "breaking news", but nothing has happened. just a bunch of rumors. Everyone including myself has been saying "petrie never reveals his hand" but i feel its about time. the kings need to make some major moves to A) improve the team and B) become a title contender. they have a solid team as of right now but also need to make some major changes.

the first change that needs to be addressed is the foward/center position. a low post presence. i really feel the kings should go after gooden, boozer, dalambert, or wilcox. those type of players would have a positive impact on the team. pairing them with artest would make a good forward combo.

Changes would also increase the chances of getting a new arena. we need to make trades for the city to get excited. if the city gets excited more people will vote for the arena issue. so my question is why have the kings not made any major trades yet? why did the maloofs let all the quality free agents get signed? why have no major moves been made?

all i am trying to say is the kings need to make some moves. each day we are getting closer and closer to the season starting and the team we have now is not a title contender. it will make the playoffs but will lose in the first or second round. i just want to hear some "breaking news" from the kings organization. we need some changes.... SOON!

OK. Here goes.

In an incredible "later is better than never" move, Geoff Petrie worked out a sign and trade with the Minnisota Timberwolves. The deal is Bonzi Wells and Kenny Thomas for Kevin Garnett. "The Maloof brothers really want to keep the Kings in Sacramento and they think that this move will help to facilitate that" said a source close to the Kings.

Kevin Garnett was quoted as saying "BALLER4LIFE really wanted to hear some breaking news so we felt that we had to put this little deal together"

Sorry I tried, but I could not help myself.

In stunning news, the Denver Nuggets signed Bonzi Wells to a 5 year 40 million dollar deal... And then traded him to the Kings for John Salmons...

You answered your own question.
"petrie never reveals his hand"
You, we, and everybody else don't know what is going on in that front office. There could have been a dozen rejected trades but they wouldn't let that info leak out into the media. That would unprofessional and would offend the (potentially traded) players fragile egos.

Indeed Mad D... it's just August 4th. The off-season doesn't end until October.

People (in general, not just here) are just impatient again, just like during the whole Bonzi "signing or not?!" ordeal. Which still isn't over for sure because of an S/T possibility.

Sounds like a dream....you think it's real, but then some weird stuff happens that would never happen in real life and then you just know it's a dream, but hope you don't wake up.

This rumor sounded real good at 1st and then towards the end about doing this move for a fan obviously wasn't. Damn I thought we actually did have some breaking news, positive news that is, not Bonzi not signing, and Petrie coming out of nowhere and signing a guy by the name of John Salmons who people cannot remember hearing about.

I have some late-breaking and important news....

CANNONBALL!!!

but seriously, i dont care what happens with bonzi now, im tired of waiting for something to happen...the only amusement im getting out of this whole situation is seeing exactly how much money bonzi's agent had lost for his client so far

Its hard to tell at this point.

The offseason is not over yet, and we are just moving into the territory where Geoff has made many of his major moves in the past. That said, we are clearly off to a shaky start, and at this point need to make a good move just to call the offseason treading water. And I remain nervous because of Geoff's quote a few weeks back about not wanting to do anything until he had given a chance to Muss to coach all these guys and get a feel for them.

One can only hope there are multiple ideas being kicked around over at Arco and just nothng that has come to fruition. It has been claimed by others (obviously never us) this offseason that we have had an interest in Pryzbilla, Mbenga, Songaila (actually that was confirmed) Wilcox, and Nene this offseason, but obviously if that is true we fanned on all of them, and they may have just been realtively passive waves. So at least maybe we've been trying, but failing. Whihc is infinitely better than not trying at all. But there have also been other significant bigs who we did not seem to make plays for: Chandler, Magliore, Elson etc. And an additional concern might be Geoff overestimating our players -- he did acquire most of these guys after all -- and not being willing to part with the pieces we might need to part with to make a move.

I think of it like this. We didn't replace Bonzi with Salmons. We replaced Bonzi with Kevin Martin and replaced Kevin Martins backup role with John Salmons. All in all Salmons was a good signing. It was a position we needed with bonzi heading out. Salmons gives you both youth and experience at the same time. I am happy with that signing.

And hopefully move Francisco into the rotation! I can't wait to see Francisco play next season. I think he'll settle down and he can do it all out on the court.

Salmons backing up the 1/2 and Francisco backing up the 2/3.

That's a good way to put it. And if he can really play point, he is also taking Jason Hart's job.

Unfortunately, there is not much we can do we at this point i'm confident this is probably our roster for next year unless something unexpected pops out and that chance is unlikely..

Trades, LLE. That's what we can do with 2 months left.

How about not even reading threads regarding personnel speculation/addition then, chap. ;)

Before the off-season ends my hopefuls are

Trading Jason Hart for a filler or a pick
Trading Kenny Thomas for a real 4
and if possible sign a good bench player with the LLE.

I don't see the point of wanting Hart the hell out of here. He's on a 1mill. contract with that only left, and likely won't be a main guy if he stays here (Price/Douby will get more time). But his defense, hustle, and tenacity would be a value for us off the bench sometimes. If not, he can be a throw in for a trade. With Musselman, he'd be utilized better than Adelman because of Musselman's mind-set.

Specifically for the ball-pressure defense we'll be doing now sometimes during every game. Which more guys will be used partly because of that, aside from Musselman's beliefs of using the bench.

Jason Hart isn't hurting us in anyway right now, for the other side I already explained. It's not like he's a horrible player or a bad attitude guy or has a ridiculous contract.

LOL Kings113 that was hilarious imagine how many pages Moochie will bring in the thread cause the summer is slow.
