Watching Bledsoe and Knight starting together makes me think...

As a short term "trick of the day" type thing, sure. Generally I don't like giving an advantage to the other team in one area that never changes......SIZE.

Knight is close to SG type of size and Bledsoe has some of that Bobby Jackson ability to play physically and bigger than he actually is. They are somewhat of an exception. Rondo and Collison can't compare defensively.

I think it's absolutely a combo to utilize at times in the game, but not starting, no. Maybe with 2008 Rondo you could pull it off, but he's just a shell of what he used to be defensively. And there are probably 15 starting SG's who would be able to abuse Collison

The offense has looked sort of flat with both of them out there at the same time. I'd rather have a lot of Collison's minutes with the bench too as his offense with the second unit is potent. But I don't mind them playing together when it suits for a little bit.

I was hoping Ben would take a leap this year because what a starting lineup of Rondo, Gay and Cousins needs at the 2 is a deadeye shooter who doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective and who can be a solid to great defender on the other end.

Rondo is so ball dominant that he takes away some of what makes Collison effective.

And honestly I love the energy DC gives the bench. No, what the Kings need is a full-sized, starter quality SG and they don't have one.

Well offensively we need our 2 to be a guy who can hit an open shot and doesnt need the ball. We have 2 of those (beli and curry). Defensively someone full sized is nice. One thing we're hopefully considering when collison gets back is that the defensive guys might be better backcourt mates with the bench since collisons a better shooter and Koufos isnt the same rim protector as wcs. Belli/curry m8ght be better with the starters to space the floor. The bench has scoring with omri/koufos/collison so the defensive 2s might be better with that group. Just a thought

I mean sure...you can start them both. Then you are just going back to the small ball antics that we've been seeing and losing a lot more games in the process.

I really hope not since some of the worst defense we've seen this year has been a result of that midget back court.

So, from your description, someone like Belinelli should fit the bills. Are we worry about losing the bench fire power and/or Belinelli is a liability on defense?

I think the best SG fit in a Rondo, Gay, Cousins team would be a 3-and-D type. A Klay Thompson or Jimmy Butler would be the best case scenario. B-Mac has the athleticism to be a perimeter stopper, and has the potential to be a deadeye shooter. Is it too early to cast him out and find a veteran who can fit the role? Or since this is supposedly the first year when we are seriously thinking about contending, we still got another year of development to go for Ben to see if it'd pan out?
