Voisin: Miller uses past woes to wow at US camp

We're not actually built very well for that right now. Kevin is. You would think Cisco would be, but his decisionmkaing is shaky in those situations sometimes. I'm sure the other kids, like most younger guys, would do better in the open court than halfcourt. But our main guys are not really runners. Brad is slow, SAR is a halfcourt postup guy, not a gazelle, Ron is a halfcourt postup guy, Bibby is hardly fleet of foot etc. And just as importantly, as it stands right now we are a terrible rebounding team. And you can't run if you can't rebound the ball -- if you are always taking it out on the baseline afte r a made hoop it short circuits all but the wacky Phoenix systems. (Geoff has made remarks before about wanting to be more like Phoenix, but that seems particularly inapprporiate for the current crew and may no longer apply).

Muss wants to run, but you have to play to the strengths of your personnel until you get more of your type of guys on the roster.

Agreed on our current status. :)

I just want to dream about that. I still cannot forget the moment - maybe 03-04. We're in transition and Divac got rebound, he dribbled to half-line, and he made a nice bounce pass to Miller, who finish with a dunk.

It's kind of homesick. I wish to watch such moment again someday. :)

last year during one of the games k-mart threw an alley oop pass to brad miller on the break, it wasnt completed, and i think the kings were up, so rick wasnt' pissed, but his expression was hella funny. I watched it on NBA league pass, great moment

"It's been interesting trying to watch Brad play denial defense," cracked Krzyzewski, with a wry grin...

That's a pretty diplomatic way to put it.

...and out of curiosity, how do you get the phonetic pronunciation "Shu-Shef-Ski" out of the last name "Krzyzewski", which to all the world looks like it should be pronounced "Kriz-zoo-ski"?

Siobhan.

There are worse pronounciations for names out there.

(and for the record i've always pronounced K's name as Kruh-shev-ski which is probably closer to the truth than what most sportscasters will get.)

Brad would love someone like Stromile Swift that can help him out. Has a K9 for Stromile deal ever been discussed? The Kings definately need a defensive big who doesnt need to score. A lot of guards in the NBA can block just as well, if not better, than Brad. I love his scoring and passing, however we need a defensive force by his side.

didnt he just get traded back to memphis? also, isn't there a deal where he has to stay for like 60days or something before he can get traded again?

There are a like a gazillion trade restrictions, but the one you're referring to, I think is:

In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances:

For two months after receiving the player in trade or claiming him off waivers, if the player is being traded in combination with other players. However, the team is free to trade the player by himself (not packaged with other players) immediately. This restriction applies only to teams over the salary cap. (Also see question number 72 for a special case where players can be traded together in less than two months.)

Something like that. But I believe the rule is that you can trade the guy BY HIMSELF, but just not as part of a package deal. If that's true, then theoretically you could switch he and Kenny straight up.

Did he ever even report? If not, and he continues pouting, Memphis may really want to unload him. Thing is, reports were that the whole reason they wanted Swift back was to get another long shotblocker type next to Pau and let him play more PF again. Obviously that ain't Kenny.

LOL.

every language has its own weird pronounciations. You have no idea how confused I was when I learned english and had to pronounce correctly words like:

tough
enough
though
dough
and so on

i remember quitte quite pissed cause i was so confused. Think about it, why is "tough" not spelled "tuff"? Guess I can't really complain though, French is much much worse.

While we're at it:

1 goose...2 geece
1 moose...2 meece? :D

English is close to the worst with all of its mishmash of influences and "rules" that are broken more often than they are followed.

But that still doesn't excuse the Eastern European fascination with all those damn consonants. :p

GEECE???????

:p

Atcually Brad runs the court very well for a 7 footer. He's just not quick in his movements.

I think the signing of Salmons makes a lot of sense with the way Muss wants to play. They can run the break at almost any point of the game because of the amount of guys that can handle the rock.
