US Open

Has anyone been watching the US open? I know there's probably not alot of people that watch golf, but man, that sure was some awesome putts by Tiger Woods. He just had surgery on his left knee about 6 weeks ago and you can really tell he was in pain, but he sure made some clutch putts down the stretch.

I don't know if its Johnny Miller or Dan Hicks (the announcers) but they are terrible. Always saying negative things like "It sure looks like Tiger is aiming waaayyyyy left, and I don't see why he has to aim so far left"? And guess what? Tiger would make the putt. It was funny but at the same time annoying when they would say stuff like that and they did that alot.

Anyways, I'll be taping the golf tomorrow since I'll be at work.

Knee surgery? No problem.

Is there anyone on the planet who didn't fully expect that putt to drop to send them into a 18-hole playoff tomorrow?

So, I ask again:

Tiger Woods. Any questions?

:D

Man, that was an unbelievable putt. I knew he would make birdie to go into a 18-hole playoff match tomorrow. However, I want Rocco Mediate to win because he has never won a major.

That was craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.....

I was on the phone with my dad during his last two holes and we just had to laugh at him working his way on the 18th because that seemed like it started as a disaster. But that putt made us REALLY laugh because that guy's a freak.

Amazing final two rounds from him....

Oh good, Rock. I realized after I posted you had said you were going to tape the match. That's why I changed my comments to a spoiler. Glad you saw it!

I'm glad for Rocco but I cannot root against Tiger Woods. It would cause a rift in the space-time continuum.

:)

I want to call in sick tomorrow so bad to watch the golf match. I'm going to dvr it, however, its still not on the tv listing.

Tiger Woo...

I'm at work following the playoff via Sobel's blog over at ESPN.com. That was exciting.

Big props to Tiger for playing 91 holes on that knee. Congrats Tiger, and thanks for making people like me, who don't really care about golf, interested. :D

Wow. Great finish.

Tiger may have won but I think both Tiger and Rocco showed what true sports professionals should be about. This was the most exciting and heart-warming golf tournament I think I've ever watched. Rocco Mediate should be very proud of himself.

Noooooooooooooooooooo kiddin....I felt like I needed it too these last two holes....

Mediate pushed him to the brink tho...it was indeed a doozy, this was fun. I was hoping they finished the 93rd hole tied. I apparently am missing visuals of Tiger with his daughter...awwww But damn Tiger...amazing.

Thank you XM radio...:)

NOTE: Please don't ruin it for people who are desperately trying to avoid hearing the results before they can get home and watch it for themselves.

:)

All I gotta say is if you don't like watching US open golf now, after watching that match, you will be hooked. Man, what an unbelievable match.

You know, that has to take a little of the wind out of Rocco's sails. He couldn't eke out a win against a guy who was basically playing on one leg.

I loved the match but it sure proves just how good Tiger Woods really is.

Naw...I think Rocco can't possibly have any wind taken out of his sails if he considers he made the #1 player in the world chase him for 91 holes of the most difficult major on the tour. Tiger had to beat him, not the other way around...well, except on the first sudden death hole. :)

Mediate played his guts out no way you slice it (lol, no pun intended). Tiger is still a super human freak, before you even consider how badly injured he was. And it seems like the most of the world stopped and watched (give or take). That was incredible theater, even watching the repeat later it.

You're probably right. I haven't watched two whole rounds of golf in a long time but I couldn't tear myself away - not only because of Tiger but because of Rocco, whose joy and excitement was almost tangible, even through the TV screen.
