Upcoming road trip (split from Nuggets grade thread)

This was a really important loss for the lottery, and I'm really hoping this road trip puts a nail in the coffin for the season. There is precious little wins/losses between having an 8th pick and having a 15th pick, and that's a huge talent difference in the lottery. Let the losing streak continue.

Our schedule over the next 8 or 9 games is pretty brutal also. First off we're playing 3 sets of back to backs in less than 2 weeks Second we play:

@Cleveland
@Charlotte(back to back, Okafor may play)

@Miami
@Orlando(back to back)

@Atlanta(who have been playing surprisingly well lately)

VS MN
@Phoenix(back to back)

VS Phoenix on ABC

We probably have no shot winning atleast 4 of those(Cleveland, PHX twice, Miami). The other 4 are iffy(Charlotte and Orlando have good big men, are on the road, and are also back to backs).

I say we only win 1, maybe 2 of these games...tops. Orlando MIGHT be a win, Atlanta, too. But other than that, we have little shot at the others.

I see 4 losses, 2 wins and 2 uncertain.

I can't see winning against Cleveland (.603, 24-8 @home, 7-3 last 10 games), Miami (.532, 21-10, 7-3), or either match with Phoenix (.778, 26-6 @home, 23-8 road, 9-1).

Atlanta (.391, 14-17, 2-8) seems likely to be a win, since it's not the second night of a back-to-back. Minnesota at Arco (.435, 9-22 on the road, 2-8) seems like a probable win, too.

Charlotte (.359, 14-17, 4-6) and Orlando (.446, 19-13, 2-8) are both the second night of back-to-backs. Not very strong teams, but we all know how badly our guys can play when they're tired on the road, so I see those as going either way. We will lose at least one of them, I think.

I guess I'll go with 3 and 5, which may be enough to squeak us into the top 10 draft picks. If Okafor's in good shape, maybe even 2 and 6 and a shot at 9th pick.

Charlotte is key, whether you want to get the 8th slot, or you want a higher draft pick. If they lose against the Bobcats, it's all over, imo. If they lose, that's when the Kings' players could see that the season is over. The King's season and future may hinge on Okafor. If he's healthy, Kings will probably lose. If he's not, then it's 50-50, imo.

Getting away from home probably will be good for Artest.

As much as I would love to see us go on that much needed losing streak that would vault us into the top 10, I have a feeling that we will be disappointed again. If we play any of these games like we did against San Antonio then we will unfortunately win.

I guess you never know...we do have Artest back. :rolleyes:
