Well, Liverpool is my favorite (together with Chelsea, but that's only because of Kezman) of all the Premier league teams.
With that being said, British football blows.

What do you think about Kezman and Milosevic being dropped from the squad agianst Belgium? I think it is a bold move by Petkovic, but finally somebody in our sports has guts to choose the team based on current form and not because of your name.

Well, first of all, I think that such moves should have been made a long long time ago, like kicking that psycho Mihajlovic off the national team for all the disgrace that he did when he played in crucial games.
The problem that I see is that even though Kezman is not playing for Chelsea, his team is MUCH MUCH better than Serbia's national team... so just because he's not in their starting rotation it doesn't mean he's out of shape. On the other hand, Savo did a lot for the national team, but I agree that we should test some new blood out. If they fail, then we can always bring the vets back.

We should probably move discussion on thish to SCG-Italy thread. I agree. I like Kezman and he quickly became my favorite player. It was sad to see him struggle at Chelsea this year, but as much blame can be put at the formation that Mourihno played as to Kezman always being slow adapting to new leagues.

I think if he was/is given another chance next year (or at least for half a season) and if Robben stays healthy (and JM sets up few more plays for him), he could be a success. He is not kind of player who will hold the ball for long time, he is there to get scrappy goals and lots of them. Kind of like Ruud van Nistelroy. Have you ever seen him score outside the 5 yard box?

I agree that Kezman without regular starts is still probably in better form than some players playing in national league. I mean practice games at Chelsea can probably be at higher level than games at SCG league

One possibility being suggested is that the Champions of Wales have proposed a 'premilinary round' vs Liverpool as a pre-qualifyer to the qualifyers. The Welsh club would get the gate receipts from both legs as their reward for the offer and if they win they go on to the qualifyers in the normal way.

We'll see...........

It's funny how things turn out. A few weeks ago, the UEFA commission allowed Liverpool FC to enter the Champions League in the first qualifying round despite the fact that they finished 5th in the Premiership.

Well, the draw was made today and guess what?

I think it's nice that L'pool can defend the trophy, although a lot of people will disagree. It's just not the same if the defending champ is not around. I know this is a lousy comparison, but can you imagine the Spurs not being in the NBA next year? OK, you can flame me for that

I say Chelsea will take it this time (not that I'm a fan, but they are quite scary).
