Tyreke Evans, Mayo, Rose workout video

lol it was funny to see Reke struggle a lil when bouncing two balls at once...

Maybe a little... I read Rose has already been through that camp once this summer and was back for a second time... Com'n Reke, pick it up dude!

Rose has sick handles that's for sure. Reke looks like a beast compared to him tho. Well he is a beast so it makes sense.

I also noticed Mayo and Rose struggle in the clip of them doing the drill together, so I'm not too worried. Rose looked like he was in better shape than Tyreke, but really if anything I'm just encouraged to see evidence of Tyreke out there working to be in top shape for the season.

On another note, when they were dribbling around the cones it looked like Tyreke had some pretty nice handles... was definitely nice to see him out there.

Speaking of Tyreke & Derrick Rose:

This one works.

I am a terrible judge of what a jumper should look like, so does it look any different?

I thought it looked much better, he's not slinging it back behind his head anymore. We still have to see what it looks like off the dribble but so far so good.

His midrange jumper looked better to me. Everything off the dribble and closer to the basket looked better. His 3 ball, however, didn't look any different to me. I saw some progress, like I said with his midrange shot, but not the progress I think we have all been hoping for.

..for real, you guys can't even see if stuff is going in. You are only going on form?... Yea, it's close to better... still is it going in? There isn't a single shot of the hoop in that vid... outside of a layup.

Reke wouldn't even be there if there wasn't something special in his potential. His form? OK, gotta work on it... But for real, even rose, a #1 pick, is working hard here to keep up.

Our one year ROY is training with 2 2nd year potential All Stars... and getting respect. Lets stay excited.....:)

I suppose we should be glad that all these guys are guards so we don't have to worry about them deciding to all get together because they're pals in three years and join the same team

P.S. BTW is it just me or do we now have the worst/least sarcastic rollie eye smilie of all time here? He doesn't look remotely sarcastic. In fact he looks like somebody is giving him a hand job or something.

Careful Brick. Somewhere Don Nelson is salivating.

Oh and also

lmao...

We're going to be glad Tyreke did this drills when the NBA goes to two balls in play in order to accommodate the Heat.

This one works.

His release point it definitely better. He used to bring the ball way back behind his head behind he shoots. Now the ball starts from in front of his head like its suppose to. Can't really tell much else since they don't show the shots and the way its filmed is kind of random.

the jumper is still looking pretty bad, this fade away just drives me crazy
on another note - Bricklayer is the GOAT!

His jumper will take longer then one off season to correct. But considering how hard this guy works I have faith that he will turn himself into a decent shooter at the least.

First off, all that matters is whether it goes in or not. His release point is much better. He has the ball out in front of his head instead of bringing up behind his forehead. He still has some fade away on his shot that needs to be corrected. If you go back and rewatch the video. Watch Rose and Mayo go up. Both are very straight going up into the air. If you watch Tyreke he's fading backwards, which doesnt' effect his midrange as much as his 3 pt shot. Its one of the reasons he came up short on a lot of his three pointers. Its better, but still needs work. Old habits are hard to break. Just ask any old baseball player thats trying to learn golf. He'll get there. Its just going to take time. If he can become deadly from mid-range, I'm not going to worry about the 3 pt shot. Wade seldoms takes a 3 pointer, but the dude will kill you from mid-range.

Maybe Big Cuz can help him out with that. :)

"The two best moves of the day bit featured Cousins handling the ball.

The first came when he dribbled at the top of the key as if to drive to the basket and stopped on a dime for a jump shot.

The second came when he dribbled along the baseline around Connor Atchley, spun in the paint and finished at the basket."

Definitely see progress in his form, nothing is fixed instantly, but knowing that he's actively working on it makes me very optimistic.

And wow, did he just drive left and finish with his left hand? He still seemed to favor his right hand though..

Also, he really only has that one dunk move huh? Sorry, just seeing Rose throw down those sick dunks made me kind of envious :p
