Tyreke at SF - the New Starting Lineup?

Speculation yes, but we did use JT as the 3 .. who knows what will happen.

I would imagine that this would make us the first team this year to use both a player whose best position is center and a player whose best position is point guard as a small forward.

Still, it seems silly - a Tyreke/Beno/Cisco lineup would still have Tyreke as the lead guard and Cisco would be the 3. Still, if we're going to insert Cisco into the starting lineup I'd guess that ti would be Beno and not Casspi moving to the bench. Just my guess.

I hate the thought of moving Tyreke to the 3. I honestly would rather throw this lineup out...
PG Tyreke
SG Cisco
SF Omri
PF Landry
C Sammy or Big Cuz depending on matchups

My reasoning is that Beno cannot keep a turtle in front of him. And by doing this we also regain our mismatches at the point. Tyreke has been more than an adequate distributor this season. We also gain another 3 pt threat in cisco who can also hit the mid range jumper and is a pesky defender.

Beno can come off the bench and run the offense better than head or any of our other points can. That way we at least have some type of offense being ran.

Kings.com: Cisco, Kings host new-looks Knicks tonight.

Seems to indicate that Cisco will be starting...
Not really, in an email and in other promo's for the game is been "See DeMarcus Cousins take on Amare and the Knicks" etc...

They pick different players every game. A few games back it was even "See Donte and the Kings..."

I'd like to see;

Reke PG
Cisco SG
Omri SF
Cuz PF
Dali C

If there's one lineup I'm waiting for, it's this one. Two complementary bigs, two three point shooters and Reke. At the very least it would be fun to watch this lineup, but I actually think they stand a better chance of finishing the first quarter not trailing by double digits.

If I see Tyreke at the 1, Cisco at the 2, and Omri at the 3, I'll be fine.

If I see Beno at the 1, Cisco at the 2, and Tyreke at the 3, with Omri on the bench, I'll flip a lid.

Actually it's a big change, it means the offense will be controlled and directed by Udrih and Garcia instead of Evans.

That's not how I see it, Lebron is a SF and he controls and direct the offense (at least in the Cavs days) just like in the old days MJ and Pippen direct the offense. There is no rule that says the PG must be the playmaker. There is no rule that says the SF can't do it.

On the flip side, if PW really wants Udrih to take over playmaker fulltime, there is no need to even move Evans to SF - just tell Evans to give up the ball to Beno, that's it.

Now, if PW starts using Evans to guard Kevin Durrant and Melo, that's different story; but there is no chance in hell of that happening no matter what position you call Evans.

.

I can't say I'm a big fan of this, if it is true that is. Why Beno doesn't get moved to the bench is beyond me. Coach would be better off starting Reke/Cisco/Omri and go from there, but I doubt we will see that anytime soon. I assume that is another "experiment" Westphal is trying and it's getting old, I don't want to say too much on this until I see that it is true for sure.

Of course, i'm not saying that a SF can't act as the playmaker, what i'm saying is that if PW is moving Evans to the SF position, then the only reasonable reason for that is to move the decision making role into Udrih and Garcia.

And the result will be the same, Evans playing as SG or SF, I'm probably not saying anything new to you, but (in the preferred scenario)Pro teams run a set of organized plays/moves in offense where each position got its own positioning on the court and role, if Evans isn't the PG in the play, then he obviously will have the role of either the SG or SF, according to the coach's instructions.

Our present starting lineup hasn't been winning or looking anything but bad (team play). Our most accomplished non starter is Cisco, with Thompson next and trailing. Jeter, Head, Wright, Greene, Jackson, Cousins, and Whiteside are not ready for prime time. Not a helluva lot of choice for the coaches. We are now looking for a win, not development of players. Hopefully, there will be time for that later. I wish the coaches and the players well, and have a little luck.

With all due respect, and I know everyone wants to win, but LATER is NOW. Developing our young players is exactly what this is all about. Because if we don't, then the team has no future. I know it can be torture at times, but its a process we have to go through. There aren't any shotcuts with a young team. You have to let them play....

Your absolutely right. The Lakers essentially have no point guard. Please don't insult me by saying Fisher. He may have resembled one at some point in his career, but all he does now is bring up the ball and get it in to Kobe. The Lakers run the triangle offense which doesn't really require a PG. Similarly to the Kings when they ran the princeton offense. Although Bibby could play the point, he mainly just got the ball into Webber or Vlade, and then they ran the offense.

Both offenses are about ball movement and player movement. Right now the Kings have neither.

I'll be stunned if this is true. I just don't see Westphal being that stupid. Lets see, now that I have five or six bigs for the frontcourt, I think I'll go small and fool everyone.. If you were going to go with Tyreke, Beno and Cisco, then you better have Thompson or Cousins out there with them. Otherwise 4 of your players are 6'8 or smaller.

Great line by Jason Jones from his on line chat with fans and Marty McNeil. someone asked about Greene getting time on the court. Jones replied, well if he does get some time, it wouldn't surprise me if he played point guard.

paul westhpal to coaching is as ________ to general manager

A) ed stefanski
B) mitch kupchak
C) david khan
D) pat riley

Here's what we should at least try as the starting lineup:

Pg: Tyreke
Sg: Cisco
SF: Omri
PF: Cousins
C: Dalembert

This is similar to what Brick posted in another thread. However, I would rotate carl and Jason as the primary bigs off the bench and also give Donte significant PT behind Omri and occasionally Cisco. This gives us great scoring off the bench with Carl and Beno.
