i love in the interview where e turner said yoda (pete carril) has a way of getting players to do things w/o telling them to. roll to the basket (cuz you totally suck at shooting) because you are the quickest guy on the floor! lol love it!!!

You know one thing that was very telling about Geoff Petries press conference is that when a reporter asked about Elston as head coach, Petrie replies with something like, well thats up to the next coach to decide if he wants Elston back, he must have not heard the question that well or something. Showed me he is not even a consideration.

Most interesting side note would probably be that Elston was a little miffed at the Maloofs for saying they weren't getting it done on defense, since he (Elston) was the defensive assistant coach, and he was now going to have to go out looking for a job. Seemed to feel it could hurt him in looking for a new position.

I can only assuem there is roughly 0% chance fo the Maloofs hirign Elston as their new coach.

Yeah, when he was asked he seemed to have a "what are you kidding me? No way are they making me head coach" undertone to him. He just seemed angry the whole interview, like he didn't even want to be there even if they wanted him back (to be assistant coach) The bottom line is, is that he seemed very fed up with the Maloofs and the media. He was my number 1 choice of coaches available, but that isn't happening.

I don't know if anyone has ever heard an interview with Elston before but this is how he sounds all the time.

If the Maloofs came and offered him the job today he would take it.....hands down.
