I think you mean Mario part 1000. As far as the old games go, the gameplay of certain older games like Tetris will never be surpassed and no one seems to even try; studios shoot for graphically intensive games, not games with awesome gameplay.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - 2003 - PC
And what does this have to do with the Aurora? KOTOR was released by BioWare using a modified version of the Aurora engine of Neverwinter Nights. Because of this, modders have been able to modify the game using some Neverwinter Nights modding tools.
I'm sure after a lifetime of tinkering, I could eventually figure out how to get that to work and increase the replay of KOTOR exponentially.
And if not, who cares ... the game stands up just fine as is. The first role playing game set in the Star Wars universe and based on Dungeons and Dragons rules. The game actually tracks your movements and actions, determining your path toward the light or dark side of the force, changing your character's appearance, dialogue and ultimately the storyline and ending.
And besides that, one of my favorite games is City of Heroes, which being an online multiplayer is ineligable for this draft. So while I can't be a Super Hero on my island ... at least I can be a Jedi Knight.

Good choice. While I haven't played it, it was very well reviewed and is one of those games I would like to pick up some time.

Friggin love that game.. I still play it.. KOTOR 1, and 2 (even though 2 was rushed). Those are great games with great stories. I cannot wait for a 3rd if they ever make it.
I first found out about this game when I bought the "best of star wars" games and loaded that one up and thought to myself "why didn't I buy this when it came out!!??" then I proceeded to purchase the second one the next day.

good pick -- on my list down there. Think there was something very satisfying about that one, kind of like Doom, where later refinements may have actually made it less fun, not more. Loved the little chunks being blown off the ships and whatnot -- not realistic perhaps, but just fun.

Well, another timeout... crazy... I am selecting the FPS that changed it all for me... from simplistic mindless shooting to strategy and squad based combat; I select Ghost Recon: Gold Edition (gold edition includes the Island Thunder and Desert Siege expansions) for the PC
I just remember when I first started playing this game thinking a FPS should not be this complex... but it worked; it became much more of an immersion experience for me that I thought possible. No mindless shooting or weird invincibility power-ups. One shot and you are probably dead, like real life... Has to be one of the greatest FPS of all time.

Sorry for the time out...2 weddings in 2 days and the internet at the hotel I'm staying at lost connection for a day and a half
. Anyway...Pick #6, and I'm sticking with my PC roots. My 2nd favorite game to play to Diablo II is this quirky, yet addicting turn based strategy game. The sequels have better animation, but no map editer or side quests so I'll stick with the version guaranteed to bring a smile to m face every time.

Goals are variable to collect certain items, conquer your enemies, defeat specific monsters, etc. You have heroes who gather armies and recruits from towns. You build dwellings to recruit specific mercenary races to aid you, and you collect artifacts and resources to help your cause.

With any draft comes the surprises and the disgusts. I'm still disgusted at all the games taken from me, but very surprised to be able to take this. I had all but left it off my list because I knew I would want to take my half life, zelda, and mario games before it and thought there'd be no way it survived.

Star Fox 64 (1997) - Nintendo 64
What can I say about this game? It was the first game I owned for my Nintendo 64 and it was absolutely worshiped by my friends and I when we were growing up.
It was one of the first games where you got to pilot a spaceship and shoot stuff out of the air......in 3D. To say the least, we had a lot to be excited about. Not only that but each mission was on a vastly different planet or setting than the last, and there were Star Fox tanks and submarines to pilot as well. Plus, it was the first game ever (and I mean ever) to use rumble capabilities. A feature that every single game system and controller since has copied or adapted.
To top it all, this game spawned so many hilarious quotes that none of us thought were funny at the time....but looking back they are so cheesy and hilarious you just have to wonder who wrote any of this stuff.

My next pick would probably have survived a few more rounds (or even the whole draft; not sure if anyone has played it) but I don't wanna take a chance. This is my favorite PC game I have ever played
Thief II: The Metal Age + Expansion (2000) - PC
Review
The Thief series has a genre of its own...First Person Sneaker. You are a thief named Garrett, and your objectives are to break into some high security buildings (and similar things for the most part), hide in the shadows, and complete different objectives ranging from stealing priceless artifacts to eavesdropping on others, all the while stealing loot for some pocket money. Guards can kill you just as easily as you can kill them, so combat should be avoided. You are equipped with a sword, a blackjack, and a broad range of arrows (water arrows for dousing torches, moss arrows to make a carpet on loud surfaces, etc.)
The videos before each mission are great, and I really like the voiceover. I highly recommend playing it if you haven't. Playing the first one isn't necessary, but it would help a bit with the story I guess. A demo can be found here:

I have played this game but was never really hooked on it, but thought that the game was really cool, i just didn't have patience to go sneaking around. My brother loved it since he was a big fan of another game similar to this. That game was developed by the same studio who made the original Thief.
