alright for my pick

(and this is WHY we use PMs people, because I dont looks at this thread untill it is my turn)

its

Pac-Man (Arcade 1980)

and if I have to explain myself, then...

You guys -- the PMs are very useful and should definitely be sent, but you could just stop through once a day and check the draftboard to see about where things stand (and maybe the last few posts of the thread just to make sure it hasn't fallen way behind on the updates).

Pac-Man and it's unlicensed doppleganger Ms. Pac Man are gone, eh? I think the only time I have actually enjoyed playing these games is when drunk/drinking and MAYBE when I was a kid, but arg...

Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990) - NES

Classic. Prefer this to the original, even though the original is obviously a classic as well. Never get sick of this game.

Agreed. Definitely prefer this to the original.

Ohhhh....

I could never get into this one...I inherited it from a friend yet never got farther than one of the few first dungeons. I play it from time and time again thinking 'Man I want to play it!' but never gat anywhere...

With my third pick, I'm picking this on a whim....changing my mind at the last second.

SimCity_Classic_cover_art.jpg

SimCity (1989) - PC

The game that started the Sim game genre was a masterpiece from the start. I remember hearing people raving about how awesome this game was for years when I was really little. I always wanted to play it, but just never got around to asking for it for a present, or saving up money in any way for it. One time I was underneath our computer desk for some reason looking for something, and what do I see way back in the corner? An original SimCity box. I have no idea how long we had had or it when the hell we got it....but it was there. It was like divine intervention.....but I'm guessing it came with the computer. I installed it, and many dozens of hours of bliss ensued.

NoBonus has timed out, and can make his pick whenever he is online next. I will PM Jespher to get this thing rolling again

Oh darn -- Jespher is not going to be back until tommorow. I know -- he PM'd me wiht his IPod choices. Not sure if he forgot about this one, or Pm'd his picks here to a different person. In any case you might want ot just skip him as well or it could be another 24 hour wair until whenever he gets back tommorow.

Can I post my pick now?

Ooops, sorry about the delay... long day at the zoo; I wish they would get a new hippo already... it is real depressing walking by that empty exhibit.

My selection is Rampage (1986) for the arcade

What is there to say? Climb and destroy buildings, eat people and their stuff... just destroy destroy destroy and a giant ape, giant lizard, or giant werewolf. This is my favorite game as a kid and I still enjoy it now. I can still remember going to Chuck E Cheese and seeing/playing this game for the first time; it was like a light went off in my head and I have never been the same since. I MUST have this game on my island.

Nice choice! Frankly, I had forgotten about this one and smiled when I saw it picked.

For my third pick:

nba2k8-766320.jpg

NBA 2K8 (Xbox 360)

The best basketball sim game ever, IMO. Gameplay is the best in the series. I can never live in my island without this game.:D

Maybe I shouldn't have weenied out on this draft. God of War is, so far, the only game picked that would have been on my list.

alrigh someone needs to send a PM next time. if its my turn. is it?

*ahem* you are right.. People DO need to send PMs when it's the next persons pick *ahem* The same person that forgot to send you one you forgot to send one.. I'm just saying.. Shouldn't call someone out when you did the exact same thing.

Mario seems to be this round's Zelda with titles from the SMB series flying off the board.

So I'm going to join the fad and snag one of the better platform adventures ever made.

super_mario_world.jpg

Super Mario World - 1991 - SNES

Like the orginal Super Mario Brothers was my introduction to the NES a half decade earlier, Super Mario World opened up my eyes to the awesome Super Nintendo.

The areas had less variety than the worlds of SMB 3, but the different paths you could take and the overall completion score increased the replay value of SMW over its predecessors.

Oh, and Yoshi just might be the greatest power-up in the history of gaming.

Just putting that out there :)

Great, great pick. I had a hard time choosing between this and SMB3, as they are similar. In fact, if this were to be available my next pick, I'd probably feel obligated to take this one as well.

I don't know how this board would pick this, but I need to get it on before its gone, so....

Baldur's Gate II (PC)

One of my favorite RPGs of all time. Great story and stupid long if you did all the side quests (which of course I did). Every once and awhile I pop it back on the computer and check it out.
