I called Simmons soft a few weeks ago, just reinforces what I said….if true, but even if this tidbit is not true, he’s still soft. Oh yeah, this guy makes max money and is terrible for the culture there……no thanks on this guy
Oh, we have just the right place for you.He needed to start over, he said, in a place where he "could make mistakes."
Let's hope not. Unless the trade involves zero core players it's too big a risk. Last year's postseason should scare the living crap out of anyone looking at Simmons.
I like how Philly is now officially stuck in "Hope that the Blazers suck so much that they decide to trade Dame" corner.
Yeah, at this point Daryl Morey has to hold out hope for an opposing front office to make a desperate trade deadline deal to salvage a disappointing season.
And that could be the Kings' front office, for the record. Every year in Sacramento has been one more to add to the longest playoff drought in the NBA, and McNair could get twitchy come the trade deadline if the three guard line-ups aren't yielding dividends and the playoffs look like they're slipping out of reach. Maybe McNair becomes more amenable to the idea of parting with De'Aaron Fox under those circumstances. My guess is Morey is waiting to try and capitalize on just such an opportunity.
It remains a big gamble, because there's no telling how the Simmons situation is going to impact Philly's on-court play this season. And wasting a year of Embiid's career is kinduva mortal sin, given how tight the Sixers' contention window is with a franchise player who has such a rickety medical history.
welcome to where mistakes are not only accepted, but embraced
I doubt they wait until the trade deadline. If the Kings start poorly and aren’t in play-off position, the pressure will be on Monte to do something.
My thought is they fire the coach
but I think they should look at this horribly balanced roster.
everything is awesome!

I don't think Morey believes flipping Simmons for Barnes and Buddy makes them title favorites. Or any of the other deals that are supposedly out there. He probably believes their best shot is with Simmons on the roster. If he can't make that work he figures he has the leverage to hold out for a deal at the break or in the offseason, worst case scenario. I still wonder why they don't treat Ben like a rich man's Draymond Green. Accept him for what he is, a defensive player of the year candidate who is probably the best passer at his position. He gives you 15 plus a game still. He can't shoot. He needs to be much better from the line but he isn't the only bad free throw shooter out there. Is he worth the money he is paid for that production? maybe not but it is what it is. Surround him and Embiid with shooters. Trade Paul Reed, picks and matching salary to the Kings for Buddy for example![]()
Doesn’t fit with Embid to treat Simmons like Green. funny both Morey and Monte his disciple have fit issues. For those critical of analytics, to me fit is where it shows up.
noooooo waaaaay.
I just don't know how you could see this coming. Out of left field tbh
Doc has a looooong history of alienating his stars though. It’s the reason the Sixers were able to hire him in the first place. This is the behavior of a teenager. Embiid and Docs words don’t justify what he is doing. Nuts

if the dude who very publicly threw me under the bus repeatedly to recuse Himself from his numerous failings as a post-season coach then proceeded To chew me out in my very first practice back with the team, I too would refuse to work for him.
