add in a Boston first rounder.

doesn't seem like much but Scalabrine comes off the books in 2010, along with Kenny Thomas, Mikki Moore, and Brad Miller.

As we know 2010 is a HUGE FA market -- with the cap space we have along with Martin, Cisco, Hawes, Thompson, this years high first rounder, probably a high first rounder next year too -- we can offer a MAX contract and good team for any young superstar.

Keep the before mentioned 4 and add two high first round picks -- with a addition of a legit superstar -- it is more than likely we'll be title contenders again :)

I see a lot of people who wanted Miller moved now, but I think its better to hold onto his contract rather than trade him for small peices because we really are missing that dominant player and this is our best shot to land him

We have 2 high draft picks, huge expirings, and the FA market.

if nothing more, im sure teams will try to acquire expirings in order open their cap space and exp's will be in high demand next year.

Ya, link doesn't work.

It's best to post the trade as well in your post so that we don't have to go to another website to check it out.

OMG...we need to set up a trade for Anthony Randolph...Don Nelson just indefinitely benched him for the single reason of not being ready to play in an NBA game. This guy has potential and Nelson is KILLING it, we must save him.

That was hard not to notice and I would agree -- Nellie has long had a shaky rep about rooks (although some have done quite well), and Randolph has flashed definite potential. Unless Nellie is trying to get himself fired (another rumored possibility) by holding the team's #1 pick a hostage, I would be more than happy if we found a way to swoop in there and steal the kid away. Of the major school stars left when we picked, he was the guy I would have gone with (where we took Thompson who few knew much about).

Looking at Golden State's roster, it's just hard to tell what they are doing.

Two solid young long term guys in Ellis and Biedrins, some nice talented potential youth in Randolph and Wright, an energy young bencher in Turiaf, and a few other young potential guys. Nice start to an up and coming young team.

BUT, they just extend 30yo Stephen Jackson, signed Maggette to a huge long term deal (he's 30 this year), and traded for Jamal Crawford. WTF?

They really can't decide which direction to go.

... but how can we pick him up?
Salmons might be able to play Nellie-ball, but they already have Maggette, Ellis, and Crawford.
Hawes could probably be traded for anyone on the roster except Biedrins and Ellis, but why would the Kings want to move him?
I do not think Miller would fit into that system.
Maybe Donte Greene plus a second round pick?

MAYBE Douby + 1st round pick... Douby would need some PT to show what he can do, however.

Yeah, it's not too clear which direction they are trying to go. If they are smart, they will rebuild and keep Randolph even if Nelson doesn't play him this year.

However, if they want to win know (winning being a relative term), acquiring him for any of our over-25 players is a no-brainer.

My guess though is that they would want to shed salary in a Randolph trade and won't simply be swapping for another mediocre veteran.

What in the heck would we do with Anthony Randolph? Line him up behind Donte Greene in the rotation?

More like line him up at the buffet.

"Welcome to Sacramento, Anthony, here's a sammich. There's more where that came from, so don't be shy now."

Let them compete. Trade him with our pick to move up in the draft. Trade him as part of a young uns package for a superstar.

Depending on what we have to give up, Randolph has multiple purposes. Fits our current mode.

Nellie really isn't that bad with rookies

Marquis Daniels in 03-04 under Nellie, got nearly 20 MPG -- he was undrafted

Very late first recorder in Josh Howard nearly got 25 MPG the same year

If you look how deep the 03-04 Mav's where its very suprising

there has to be a reason why Randolph's not playing -- I refuse to believe its because of a personal issue alone.

Ahead is more like based on what we have seen so far. But simple enough -- clear Salmons, let Greene and Randolph compete for the job. Double your chances of getting a major young player coming up out of that position. Randolph might also have a little of that old Hedo ability to swing up to play some PF in matchup situations.
