Based on what getting carried on a good team?
Let me flip this argument around for a sec. What makes you think that Williams and Outlaw were better than Omri last year?
Based on what getting carried on a good team?
How was he so much better than Outlaw? I would say Outlaw is a better defender/athlete and shot similar %'s. this whole thing he played 18mpg on Houston is non-sense he was not used once in the playoffs and everytime they played a good team just about he never played, again the only reason he got any playing time was cause Asik was being a baby.
None of our players were even used in the playoffs last season, EVERYONE SUCKS!!!! Rabble rabble rabble
I've softened on the Casspi move now we have Moreland. But I'm still not excited about it.
I can see the thinking behind it, not that I agree honestly.
they desperately desperately need to "balance" the squad ASAP.
Part of the thinking is honestly marketing, and they've openly admitted that.
Personally I have no problem with that. Spots 12-15 on the roster are not really difference makers. But if can have a decent attitude, bring some toughness, and also provide an international connection and open doors or whatever Jewish business connections having Casspi might allow... why the hell not.
Where did they admit that? Would like to read it.
Where did I say any of that? I think you are confusing me with someone else, I just don't want a dude who has complained about playing time (which he's never actually earnt) in the past on the team. I would be up for trading Rudy but.Beat me to it! Trade Cuz and Rudy! They never played in any REAL games last season!! While we're at it, trade Nik too! Dude hasn't even PLAYED in an NBA game. And he's supposed to be our starting SG??
It's honestly the weirdest thing though as to why Andremiller why Omri has set the Kings back 5 seasons.
Josh Smith is the obvious target.
I have to think that Milwaukee is a potential target as well, with a number of shot blockers and no real post scoring presence other than rookie Parker playing out of position at the 4. Landry would seem to be a good fit there, if only his contract were shorter.
Outside of those two teams, you are looking at headcases (McGee) or unproven prospects (Gobert, Nogueira). I would stand pat with Moreland before picking up any of those, and I am a bigger fan of Gobert than most.
Honestly, I think the bench and the backcourt bench in particular are the biggest issues. JT is a serviceable PF. Cousins was far better on defense by the end of last year. I dont think our starting five will be awful on defense. I do think we are missing a scoring threat off the bench, the role IT played at the beginning of last season. Maybe Ben and Ray will provide that, but I am not holding my breath.
If it's obvious, it means it isn't happening. Look at the past. It's obvious we want a defensive minded team. Trade away one of our better defensive players in tyreke. It's obvious we need a shot blocker. Still waiting, unless u count a undrafted free agent as our savior ( I actually like the Moreland signing but td just an example). We need IT as that back up 6th man. Traded away an not even really courted per Thomas. We use advanced stats to help judge who we pick up. Trade for Rudy gay. Some if these moves work out some might not. I just don't think what's obvious will happen as much as I would like it to.Again I must point out Landry as the obvious fit for that role. In fact that's basically all he's good for.
Its a shame that JT is a malcontent, as I think he is the most useful PF on our roster. He is the best defender of the bunch, has a decent midrange game, 2nd best rebounder (after the board beast that is Reggie Evans), and is the only one with the size to back up Cousins at center. Maybe us trading IT will have him seeing more touches and being happier. More likely PDA ships him off though, as it seems like our FO has been trying to move him since the ownership changed hands.
Maybe, but that would be rare. Decent size moves/transactions almost never happen between Aug 1st and training camp. There HAS to be some money shredding move along the lines somewhere or we are a luxury paying, lottery team. The has to be a move or two in the next few weeks.
But if Josh Smith is your PF, then Landry is a very awkward fit there. There will be a lot of small ball in that case.Again I must point out Landry as the obvious fit for that role. In fact that's basically all he's good for.
Do people really think we are still going after Josh Smith? I guess no news is better than a over spill of rumors.

The big problem I have with Landry being the scoring weapon off the bench is that he occupies the same space on the floor as Cousins. If you bring him in for Cousins, that is not a huge problem. It gives you a full 48 minutes of scoring threat down low. But you can't bring in Landry and play him with Cousins at the end of games to give your offense a new look.
I agree that Landry's ability to provide post offense when Cousins sits will be a big help (whether or not that justifies his contract is another story). Given that so far Cousins hasn't been able to stay on the court more than 32 minutes a game, there's 16 minutes for Landry right there even if you straight platoon them. Of course, hopefully Cousins can stay on the floor longer this season, but I think the Kings can probably get away with playing them together for some stretches, too. Sure, the pairing didn't exactly pan out last time, and I don't want to see it to start or end games, but I think Cousins' shooting and face up game have improved such that if you move him to the high post from time to time when Landry's in, it's not the end of the world.
At this point, though, my guess is that we'll see a line up of Collison/Stauskas/McLemore/Gay/Cousins to finish games.
well, you could reasonably interchange cousins and landry at either the low or high post, depending on match-ups. cousins' face up game is certainly becoming a deadly weapon, and it's possible that he and landry could create space together with cousins operating up high. but i only want to encourage demarcus into a lamarcus aldridge style of play so much. that said, i'd rather the kings attempt to make use of landry in the high post when he's on the court with cousins. in landry's last season with golden state, he shot around 44% from 10-20 feet out, and those were largely assisted baskets, so the kings could try and use carl in a "stretch 4" capacity. the game plan just has to be very specific when landry and cousins are in the game simultaneously so that they're not crowding each other out...
