I posted this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating:
-The Sixer's are 8-10
-CWebb shooting .426 from the field
-I guessing he insn't playing defense
-I also going to go out on a limb and say he won't play over 60 games this year (his average games played the last 5 years are 56.2)
I think in hindsight we should've gotten more for Webber, but come on, it's not like he and the Sixers are dominating.

Yoda said:Just dont say it was a good trade. There are zero factors which lead to a reasonable conclusion such as that.
If we trade for KG tommorrow who is to say he wont have a career ending injury before the conclusion of the contract. I dont be the lets wait and see argument. What I see now is a bad basketball team, which came about almost directly from a bad trade.Warhawk said:Actually, there is NO WAY to judge that at this point. Webber hasn't either played or not played through the end of his contract. He could go down tomorrow with a season/career-ending injury or he could play another 3 years the way he is. The players we got in return are sitting on the bench (when some really feel they could help us out). That is a choice by the coach and not necessarily an indicator that the players cannot play and help us win. We still have to see if any of these pieces will be moved to bring us more talent as well. It hasn't even been a year yet, people, and we're speaking in absolutes. WE DON'T KNOW, AND WILL NOT KNOW, AND CANNOT KNOW at this point.
Please, give it a rest.

Im sorry if some find this conversation intriguing, but until this team becomes a winner again it is hard to "give it a rest" since when you look at the beginning of this lean time in Kings history, it started with that trade.

I guess we can agree to disagree on that one.nbrans said:The lean time in Kings history began when Webber blew out his knee. After that it was just a matter of cutting losses.

KP said:Some people on this board are SO DELUSIONAL. The Kings are a very bad team right now and have been since trading Webber. They couldn't move any of those "very tradeable" pieces in the offseason and the players that we got in that trade have only hurt their trade value since then with their weak-*** play. The percieved weaknesses of Webbers game(interior defense, and rebounding due to lack of speed) have both gotten worse since the trade. We can't get a rebound or make a stop to save our lives, and our offense has completely broken down. Many of us on this board told you this would happen, and now it is, what a surprise! Lets face it, we are a bad team now... not even average at this point... and there has been no indication either after the trade last year or since the season started this year to think that's going to change. Mike was a better player when Webb was here, Brad was a better player when Webb was here, Peja was a better player when Webb was here, and the Kings were a much better team when Webb was here. Not to mention that every game he plays Webb gets closer to the final year of his contract when he will become very valueable as a trade piece or an expiring contract. Petrie got burned, there is know way around it.

I could care less about Philly, All I care about is the Kings and we suck right now. I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Philly was sub .500 team before Webb got there, they aren't going to win a championship any time soon, but they just might win their division... they're a better team now.G_M said:KP-
If you want Webber back I think we can get him pretty cheap about right now. Philly fan is ready to give him away for a large gatorade. Maybe we can send the "tradeable" pieces back and pretend like it never happened.![]()

Kenny Thomas, Corliss, and Skinner...
For Chris Webber.
I know, I know, it's crazy! The money doesn't quite add up. They might have to throw us some filler. But it might just make us a good team again!
Oh, and Peja for a ham sandwich. And I hate ham.
Warhawk said:You honestly think the defense would be BETTER with Webb back?!?!?
KP said:It's just depressing to watch this team play basketball right now. I really wish I was completely wrong and this wasn't happening, I thought Mike and Peja would step up... This just sucks.
