Does anyone know what happened with the 3 draft picks the magic got in the webber/penny trade? for those who dont remember, webber went first to the magic...the warriors took penny with the third pick and then traded penny and 3 first round draft picks to the Magic for Webber.

So what's up with those 3 draft picks? i'm looking back and the warriors have taken petrius, JRICH, murphy, dunleavey with the 3rd pick.... when do the magic see those picks? well i hope someone knows

That's a good question. I am pretty that the picks were 1996, 1998, and 2000. A problem is most draft history charts don't show complete details of where a pick was moved from. I do see that in 2000 the Magic had the 5th pick from Golden State and selected Mike Miller. The only thing I remember is, way back then, hearing the Magic had moved the picks (or 1 or 2 of them) for another trade, but for the life of me I can't figure out who it would have been for.

Strike that. I looked it up and what I remember is the Bullets sending Gugliotta and 3 First Round picks to GS for Webber. And, I'm not sure exactly how this works, but in 1998 Orlando has a pick from Washington. Perhaps the Warriors got to choose which pick, as they took Vince Carter at #5 (before promptly trading him to Toronto for Antawn Jamison). I'm not seeing any picks in 1996, however, Cleveland has a pick that was Washington's, so it's possible it went from Washington to GS to Orlando to Cleveland.

The point is, those picks have long since been used and the Magic have nothing more coming to them via the Webber trade.

What is even more shocking is that if Orlando didn't trade the draft rights of Webber they would of had Webber at PF and Shaq at Center. That would have been a dominating combo.

I dunno, Penny and Shaq were pretty frickin dominant in their own right, and gave their team a lot more balance than a frontline loaded with talent. Dennis Scott, Nick Anderson, and Skiles were all decent, but Penny made that team really take off when he arrived.
