why would they do it?

with artest on their line up they get that defensive presence combined with their run and gun play... this would immediately put them back again on the championship race...

not only that Artest is a DEFENSIVE PLAYER: some one that terry porter can coach and rely on... because outside shaq and Bell there is no one else on that team that can provide defensive intensity like artest... diaw is under acheiving....

this would benefit both teams

we get a blazing point guard.. they get a burly SF to impose defense..
plus artest can help shaq on his raps to diss kobe lol

No thanks. I'd rather try and get young players and expirings for Artest if possible (I realize Barbosa is only 25). Barbosa's contract is for another 3-4 years, is approx. the same as Artest's, and he'd be coming off the bench. No need to pay a bench player that much money, seeing as we already have KT and SAR doing that

barbosa is actually starter material he can play point he is quick VERY quick

I think barbosa is more of a tweener SG than a point guard... and yes he is very fast, but we've already got beno and singletary. Right now I'd rather get a player still on a rookie contract + an expiring.

True. But then that puts Beno on the bench, and still an overpaid bench player. Not what we need in a rebuilding phase

i like the idea of unloading kenny thomas with Artest... for expiring contracts... it will REALLY speed up the rebuild! then maybe SAR retires or more likely will be bought out... and BAM! that leave only Moore's contract as being the only bad one left!
