Trade Analysis (not venting)

Yeah! Now that Peja isn't shackled with 20 and 10 guy as the focal point of the offense.

Truly -- clutch tough guy that he is I am confident he can shoot at least 5-20 every game against Bowen and up his rebounding all the way to 5 a game for the series. Spurs stand no chance against such a superstar.

you guys and gals are forgetting that the Kings were 40-15 without Webber last year with Darius starting at PF and Pedja the real star averaging 24+ ppg. Thomas is from New Mexico and is 2nd leading rebounder on sixers but same size as corliss. both aer horses and can average 10-14 ppg and both are major down low players. Skinner is an unknown. Let's wait and see......

Wrong. Divac and Miller started. Divac is gone now, as is Christie.

Divac and Christie made Peja last year. He's helpless alone, and we already traded his personal assist men.

This trade may pee off Bibby.
I'm sure it will pee him off, Hopefully Mobley has a talk with him and let him know how it is since he had to go through the same when being separated from his boy Francis..Everyone on the kings is going to miss C Webb except maybe Peja.

Brick, I have a feeling you're going to go egging somebody's house tonight. I don't think I have to guess who the victim will be =]

My arm isn't quite 3000 miles strong.

...and you are forgetting how easy the King's first half schedule was that season. They feasted a lot of Eastern Conference teams at were front loaded with a lot of home games.

Someone posted in another thread that it would be easy to move these players with another play for someone great. For example, Peja +1 76 for Paul Pierce.

I don't know...........I'm hurting. That is all I have to say about that.

hahah that would be me! :P
it's a good move for the kings. can u imagine if webb had another major injury?
what if his wheels finally broke for good. i'm glad the kings made the move by shipping him out. i'm sorry for being so blunt, but you gotta cash your chips in while the stock still has value.

even harder to see the kings w/o c-webb making his amazing passes and hitting those 15 footers..and him smiling when he knocks down those J's..... :(

i'm glad he isn't chucking up all those shots. give it to a real shooter like bibby, peja, mobley to fire up more shots. he didn't work on the block enough for me to be satisfied.

Looking back now I think the Christie-Mobley trade was in preparation for dumping Webber. Petrie knew we'd miss Webb's 20 PPG and made up for it by replacing a non-scorer with a scorer.
Good thought. This explains why we brought Mobley although he is not good at defense.

Kings are hoping the same thing happens after the trade. Let's just see...

Man, even Dave can see it's bad.
all spurs fans think that was the worst trade of the month, probably the season. well, except for that shaq trade. but this is different because webber wasn't demanding to be traded.

the biggest problem with not having Webber is in the 4th quarter, the Kings don't have that go to movee like they used to...the pick and roll between Webber and Bibby is what always made them dangerous at the end of games....i think Miller can do an ok job with it but there is nothing like having to gaurd two extremly confident players running a well-oiled play at the end of game

Oh you Spurs fans better watch out, because now we're going to shoot you guys out of the playoffs with our super-Peja. You scared yet?

I'll ask you again:

from this one (between lines) and previous posts I see that you blame Peja for trading Webber......Why?.....I've been warned on this forum for bashing Webber but now 90% people are talking trash about Peja without any particular reasons....

@VF21 I can see some double standards on this forum

No reason starks? We all know the reason Webber is gone and sadly on top of the injuries and the big payroll it was to make Peja better on court. We all know who the best playoff performers for our team our, that's the problem I have. Will Peja, a periennel playoff misfit show up for once and show up big and prove his worth. We all know Webber's worth in the playoffs, he brought it, can Peja do the same, that's where all the bashing comes from.

who is bashing anyone - Bricklayer was being sarcastic....but to be honest, there is some truth to what he was saing....people kept complaining about Webber, but now that he is gone does anyone really fear a Kings team headed by Stojacovic....Peja has always been one of my favorite players, but there is no way anyone can seriously believe that playing the Kings now is as scary for opposing teams as it would have been to face Chris along with the rest of the gang

p.s. believe me, I've learned firsthand that VF is as adamant in defending Peja as she is in defending Chris - so forget all that double standard stuff

I hate to break this to you but no one feared the Kings this year! No one feared them on the road and no one feared them at Arco. Ask the Warriors, Raptors, and Hornets. The Kings were not getting it done, PERIOD. I do not blame Webber completely for the downturn. Like I've said before I truly admie Webber playing on one leg with pain. I gained a respect for him this year that I did not have before.

The Kings weren't going anywhere! I first realized that when I went to the Lakers game at Arco and the Kings got blown out. Something that I hadn't seen for a long time. The team just looked broken. Nothing going forward from that game convinced me any differently.

Teams don't have to fear Peja. That's the beauty of having Bibby, Miller and Mobley. Peja just has to play like Peja.

The biggest irony to me is that Philly seems to think they are getting a LOW POST scorer. Not sure who they have been watching this year.

he isn't bashing Peja, that was sarcasm, because obviously this team isn't as much of a threat to the Spurs without Webber. In general "Bashing" anyone is not allowed on the board. Yes, many are upset at the perception that making Peja happy had something to do with this trade. Those are legitimate concerns and feelings. I don't think that's the same as saying Peja is "cancer" or "worthless" or any of the horrible things that Webber "bashers" have posted on this forum in the past. If people started doing that, trust me, it would be stopped immediately.

Our best play-off player is: Mike Biby....comparing the numbers I can argue that webber is traded to make Brad better......I said few things about Webber (FG percentage and that the future of kings primarily depends on his health) and I was warned for bashing

Ugh, you better go check out the stats, Webber is by far our best playoff player the last 5 years. Your right Bibby steps up but Webber has been our most consistant player by a LONG way. You can't take a game 7 snapshot from 2002 and call it consistancy. Webber Stats in the Lakers-Kings series in 2002, are 24/11/6 1.5 1.5 at 50% from the field, Peja's while injured are 6/x/x and Bibby's are 20/x/x. Peja's best series has easily been the 2003 Dallas-Kings series where Webber was out. So if you don't think it matters, it does.
