TOR | SACTO - Finding players that FIT

Smills91

Raptors need help on the wings, ESPECIALLY defensively. Why not look to pair a Nocioni and Garcia up with them near the deadline when Garcia's healthy...

Kings deal:
Andres Nocioni
Francisco Garcia

Raptors deal:
Hedo Turkoglu
Marcus Banks

That 1-2-3 punch is amazing for us and VERY complementary.

For the Raps, both bring energy, intensity, defense and 3 point shooting, something they're really needing in large doses on the wing there.

New roster:

C: Hawes, May
PF: Thompson, Thomas, Brockman
SF: Hedo, Casspi, Udoka
SG: Martin, Greene, Banks
PG: Tyreke, Beno, Sergio

Much as I love Hedo, or rather "loved" Hedo's game, it seems his game has fallen off big time this year and he has become a bit injury prone. He is a SF and sometimes PF but never a center. An older Euro version of Donte. Nope, this is not a good one for the Kings.

Kmart and HAwes

for

Banks
Bargnani

Kings line up

Bargnani/May
Thompson/thomas
Nocioni/Greene
Evans/Garcia
Udrih/Rodriguez/Banks

Why a Hedo re-do when we want to fleece the Raptors of Bosh?

Hedo may be awesome, but a trade between these two teams should involve a franchise player moving (our way).

Edit: the thread title implies Hedo would be a better fit than Bosh. Why?

I don't particularly care for Hedo's game for this team. I think lately the lines are getting a little blurred for poor Donte since he's been starting at the 2 spot - that isn't where he'll stay it's just where they put him for now so he gets minutes and to try to force the other team to be honest when guarding tyreke. I'd prefer to stay at status quo

Are you a Kings fan?

of course why ask me such a silly question (stuffs bryant jersey to brothers closet ;))

oooooh right... the thought of an even bigger three point shooting bigman to replace our 3point shooting big man must be scary (in a negative way yes?)

The fact you included KMart in the trade is what makes Smills and me question you :p For KMart they would have to include more positives to grab him then just Bargiani... Banks just makes his value less. That being said I would rather just keep Spence then getting Barg...

lol i live in canada and watch alot of raps games. Bargs isnt the big we need, a three point shooter thats below average on defense.
I wouldnt give up martin and hawes for an unsigned bosh either.
Really no one on that team intrigues me except Derozan but we already have tons of swingmen.

Not so complementary.

Any trade not netting a fine, full-sized, defensive back-up center who is at least better than Hawes ( in terms of defense ) should be a NO.

Please, no more addition of these small forwards, or undersized centers without subtracting any of them from our team. We have too many small forwards and underperforming ( or undersized ) centers in Hawes and May. Adding some more of the same will not solve the imbalanced roster of this team.

The Hedo signing is going to be a mistake like the Peja signing. The only team who should've offered him a big contract was Orlando because chemistry was already there. I wasn't a fan of going after him in the off season, and definitely not now. We have promising SF's in Donte and Cassipi already. Those two still have a lot of potential and if they bust, we lose nothing. Noci can be moved elsewhere, and Garcia can a good locker room guy even though we shouldn't have extended him.

Omri's arguably nearly as good already as Hedo was at any point up until his MIP career season or how he's playing right now. I'm all for moving Noc, but to make room for Omri and Donte.

The only thing the Kings should be shopping for as a big defensive center who can average a dbl dbl. Also why are so many people willing to trade K-Mart and Nocioni for so much under his value. The only way I would be willing to trade K-Mart or Nocioni would be if we were to bring in a Franchise Player i.e. Bosh

No offense to anyone, but if you guys want a defensive center coming our way in a 2-team trade, why did you open a thread titled "TOR-SACTO" ;)

I'm also from Canada, and the Raptors are probably worse defensively than we are. The only defensive center they have is Rasho, and right now he is slowww. No really, the only guy he is faster than is Ilgauskas, and that's not a sure thing.

There is a LOT of myopia going on in this thread. You can't see the forest from the trees. Hedo is a PERFECT fit next to Martin and Tyreke, BECAUSE he's also an EXCELLENT three point shooter. Adds a very tall SF to an already TALL SG and TALL PG, and he's a PLAYMAKER to help facilitate the offense. Notice how when Sergio enters the game, things get a lot easier for both Hawes and JT. It's because he's a traditional playmaker, as is Hedo. But NOW we keep the mismatch advantage to our favor. Hedo's the same age as Noc and just a little older than Cisco. The money's close to the same.

So for little effect, other than losing a roster spot, you get what Noc and Cisco bring in ONE player(arguably an upgrade overall), and a player that fits EXACTLY what this team needs. Casspi, then replaces what Cisco brings in energy, tenacity, and three point shooting.

We can get the big via, other routes, LIKE DEALING KT for Okafor at the deadline.

And yet, our already bad defense suffers even more (don't mistake our gritty hustle for defense anyone). No.

Yes, there is a certain amount of myopia in this thread. No, it's not from the people questioning this trade idea.

Your last sentence makes it sound as though it would be incredibly easy to to find a valuable big. That's myopic...and a little delusional. And note, I'm saying the idea is delusional not you.

Right, considering the national media has thrown out a deal involving Dalembert and our own local Sam Amick through out discussion surrounding Okafor. So I think the myopia is your inability to read the news.

My thoughts

Mid-season trade Kevin/Kenny thomas for S&T with Toronto. And then then pursue the heck out of Joe Johnson. Add in John Wall for kicks lol.
