Could Kings facilitate SnT of Marion to Dallas with Toronto

Smills91

Starter
Kings deal:
Beno Udrih
Created TPE

Kings receive:
Jerry Stackhouse
Shawne Williams
Antoine Wright
JJ Barea
Cash

Mavericks deal:
Jerry Stackhouse
Shawne Williams
JJ Barea
Antoine Wright
Cash
2nd round pick

Mavericks receive:
Shawn Marion(SnT roughly 6 million a year)
Beno Udrih

Raptors deal:
Shawn Marion

Raptors receive
TPE via Kings
2nd round pick

Raptors move Marion's deal without taking on any added long term salary and get a TPE and 2nd rounder for their troubles.

Kings use their cap space to move Beno's long term contract

Mavericks get Marion while giving up little value.

Kings follow this up by waiving Jerry Stackhouse and Shawne Williams to reduce his buy out to 2 million dollars.

Then we trade Andres Nocioni to Boston for Scalabrine/Allen and re-sign Diogu to a short, cheap deal.

Kings new roster:

C: Spencer Hawes, Ike Diogu, Brian Scalabrine
PF: Jason Thompson, Jon Brockman, Kenny Thomas
SF: Francisco Garcia, Donte Greene, Omri Casspi
SG: Kevin Martin, Antoine Wright, Tony Allen
PG: Tyreke Evans , JJ Barea, Sergio Rodriguez

So what is so special about this roster now?

I don't see any significant upgrade. Most added players to the Kings are mediocre at best right now and actually undersized for their position.

Is the goal to help the other teams improve, or the Kings? Sorry, I don't mean to shoot down the deal, but I am really confused. Please enlighten me some more. :o

We spend 2 million now to get expirings for Beno.

I don't think Dallas does this. They're apparently unwilling to take Marcus Banks, who has only two years left on his deal, so I'd imagine Beno would be even more difficult, especially with them giving up JJ Barea as well.

I don't think it's as much about the salary contract, but rather the salary contract + lack of production.

Dallas has expressed interest in Beno in the past, and I think they could look past his contract as a player, whereas they couldn't with Banks as a player, if it meant landing vs. not landing Marion.
