Mixed emotions on this one. Rudy is a natural SF and moving him out of position is a pretty desperate act. BUT our guards are just not getting the job done. Another thought is to give Jimmer a shot.... wait, wait don't nuke me yet! Jimmer is hitting the outside shot, has some size and can move the ball, and is no worse at D than Ben is. Maybe, just maybe the temporary solution is to either start Jimmer and bring in Ben/Thorton leaving either IT or Jimmer on the floor at all times OR Bring in Jimmer as a 6th man with longer min split between the 1 and the 2. With Ruddy, IT and Jimmer out there we ought be able to spread defenses thinner than a McDonald's patty.

As rule I care a lot less over who starts and a lot more about min played. If the answer truly is to go big by bringing in D Will and shifting Rudy, then there does NOT have to be a change in the starting line up just give D Will LOTS of minuets and give MT a short leash. Again I don't have problem with trying this either.

Ruddy Gay was the guy who played in Toronto. Rudy Gay is the awesome point forward on our team now.

I do wonder if we shall see more of this once Landry comes back, particularly if Ben and MT continue to struggle.

Right now, majority of minutes at 3-4 are divided between Rudy, DW and JT. Once Landry is back, he shall see some minutes at 4. It's quite possible, that that shall be at the expense of JT/DW (and Quincy, since DW might see some of those minutes at 3). However, we could potentially use Gay at 2 for some time, at the expense of MT/Ben instead.

Wonder, what PDA thinks about Landry signing right now. Sure it's hard to get an understanding with Carl in street cloths, but if Landry is expected to stay in Sacramento through next season, it's definitely worth exploring what Williams' value is around the league before deadline, cause he will be squeezed into backup SF role, the moment one of Thornton/Mclemore get decent shooting back, and we already saw how easily Derrick becomes Wolves' version of himself, once you take playing time from him.

When Landry comes back, I'm assuming we might see these rotations based on matchups(barring trades)

IT
Thornton
Gay
JT
Cousins

Jimmer
Gay/Mac
Williams/Gay
Landry/Williams
Acy/Landry/Gray

Went to 82games.com and found this interesting statistic:
Unit----------------------------------------------------Min--Off----Def---(+/-points)
Thomas-Thornton-Gay-Thompson-Cousins-------75---1.23---.83-------62
Thomas-Thornton-Gay-Williams-Cousins---------27---1.23---.94--------14
Thomas-Thornton-Williams-Thompson-Cousins-19----.98---.93---------4
Fredette-Thornton-Outlaw-Williams-Acy----------16---1.03---1.07--------1
Thomas-Thornton-Outlaw-Williams-Thompson--11----1.25---.88--------8
Thomas-Thornton-Outlaw-Williams-Cousins------11----.90---1.00------(-4)
Thomas-Thornton-Outlaw-Williams-Acy-----------9----1.32---1.37-------(-1)
Thomas-Thornton-Outlaw-Williams-Gray----------9----.94----1.22------(-5)
Thomas-Thornton-Outlaw-Thompson-Cousins----8----.88----1.25-------(-6)
Off and Def are points scored and allowed per possession.
Feels like Marcus is doing ok as a starter. Just don't pair him with Outlaw.
