You definitely did -- I thought you were crazy talking up the Grizz in the offseason, but they're looking pretty good.

The first year they made the playoffs and everyone was excited about JWill, Vlade and Webber? They were 27-23. .547 winning percentage. Barely a winning team. Want to know what they were the next year? 44-38.
Guess what, this is year one of a completly new team. People are pretty crazy if they think teams are going to just go out and win without a chance to gel. The main pieces of the best teams in the league have been playing together for years. Look how long the Pacers' core, the Spurs, the Pistons have all been together. Heck, even most of the Warriors have been sucking together for a while before this year.
All the whining and complaining and "fire Adelman" and trade all the players and blah blah blah.... Seriously, get some perspective. It's going to take some time to get back to where the Kings used to be.

Pacboy said:Those teams had a young core and a few years down the line to build enough into a contender. The old kings had a young cwebb, a young guard in Wahad and a pg full of potential in Williams. They had the time to grow. This year's kings does NOT have that kind of timeline. Our so called "core" is approaching middlage age by NBA standards and no disrespect to Garcia or Martin, but neither seems to be ready to a strong contribution anytime soon. Not only that, of our starting 5, both peja and wells are ending contract by the end of the season so this season is pretty much it. Either Win it all or be one of those mediocre playoff team like NY last year.

Bricklayer said:As an aside the obvious difference between this team and the '99 squad is that that team was young, talneted, had all of its best years ahead of it, and could look to growth from inside as star level players grew and improved. That is always exciting.
Wow...I'm depressed enough Brick.Bricklayer said:Not only lack of results, but lack of hope for future results.
Padrino said:i really don't understand why people seem to think webber never had any post moves. this is the most ludicrous thing i've ever heard, and it shows just how short-sighted kings fans can be.
schaffeb said:Really?...Can you describe some of this awesome post game?
The only post move Webber ever had was the right handed baby hook, I honestly cannot remember him ever having any other post moves. That's not to see he wasn't effective, he just wasn't a force on the block.

Smart_guy3 said:This team is more talented then the 99' team . . . this team is only missing a good frontcourt player and a SF who actually is not soft as Peja is this team was suppose to be a easy cakewalk to the Pacific division unfortunately thats not the case right now as long as they make the playoffs I'm a happy camper.
BigWaxer said:Nobody caught this quote. Not even close I would take that '99 team over this current one any day no matter who the coach is. How does this team now have more talent? That is a joke you guys are rating some of our current players a little to high. Brick already went through the team rosters from the past. This team is nowhere close to '99. Only position is Bibby over JWill.
nbrans said:Ok, wow. This is exactly the type of short-term memory I'm talking about. Remember who the 2 guard was in 98-99? Tariq Abdul-Wahad. You'd take him over Bonzi? Starting 3? Corliss Williamson. Hmm.... better than Peja?
Or maybe you mean the 99-00 team? Nick Anderson as starting 2? Corliss starting at the 3?
It's even somewhat of a myth that the Kings were a young team. Other than JWill, Webber was 26 in 98-99 and 27 in 99-00. Vlade was already in his 30s. Nick Anderson had a huge fork sticking out of his back. Jon Barry was 30.
SAR will turn 29. Bibby is 27. Peja is 28. It's not a lot different, these players still have 3 or 4 great years ahead.
Seriously, the reason people remember that late 90s time fondly was because at teh time the Kings were a vast improvement over the last 13 years. Just because the Kings are struggling after some great years doesn't mean that people should lose perspective altogether.

Bricklayer said:The eam was young everywhere it mattered. Webb was younger than any of our current starters, and a superstar in waiting. Peja was just starting out. The sky seemed to be the limit for JWill. Tariq was a #8 pick in his 2nd or 3rd year. Corliss was still about 26 himself. 4 of the 5 starters were younger than our current guys. And all of the stars except "old man" Vlade, who was 29 or so, had their best years ahead of them.
