I am ecstatic.
I am overjoyed.
We have done it.
A kid moved past a vet in the starting line-up in his natural position. And the vet wasn't either injured or suspended. It's a miracle and life just seems so much brighter.
Hopefully now JT won't hit a slump and will justify why he deserves the starting nod. (Does that mean that he has to make sure to just average more than 2 points and 1 board on the road, and 4 points and 5 boards at home....? I think he can manage that.)
I know JT srtuggled in the post, but I would really like to see the team spend more time trying to set him up there. If we can get him and the team proficient in working that, it will greatly help us out in the long run.
Finally, I'm really curious as to how management is looking at Hawes. Hopefully they are looking at him as our future starter at Center who can play spot minutes at the 4 if necessary. I'm really hoping they aren't thinking to themselves that Spencer isn't starting material, due to the shooting slump he's been dealing with.
Also, I'd love to see Brad get some reduced minutes in the 1st/3rd quarters so that JT and Spencer can get more playing time together. In fact, I'd love for us to see that our team plays better/with more energy and effort when Spencer and JT are on the floor together, and see the push for Brad to get traded intensified.
As much as I'd love to see Spencer get the starting nod over Brad, I just can't see that happening as long as it looks as if we're looking to trade Brad. Of course, if Spencer can really come on strong in the 2nd half of the year, perhaps he could play himself into the starting C position.
Regardless, this is just an utterly fantastic day. JT starting and Coachie is back!
