Thompson at SF or PF??

hes definitely a PF/C not a SF. the quicker SFs will just eat him up. try having him guard lebron, melo or shawn marion.

thats the joy with this guy hes not a tweener he can play C/PF if he gets stronger and he can play SF in short stints with his quickness and his ability to knock down threes..

the kid can cause mismatches if he is guarded with a center if he becomes more consistent with his jumpshot, he can become a mismatch with SF if he develops a more polished back to the basket game...

thats the beauty with a versatile kid like him who is not a tweener he can play those three positions but not a master of them all.. i think he will play majority of his career on PF, sometimes at C and rarely at the SF

Thompson can play any position... Stick him on Hedo at SF, or Peja and he will be fine.. Against the smaller quicker SFs he wouldn't do so well. His natural position in the NBA should be PF, but he should be able to fill in at C or SF from time to time.

I can't add much to whats been said so far. Definitely PF is his natural position. I know some people have mentioned Garrnet as a comparison, but I don't think he's as quick as Garrnet was when he came into the league. He is pretty quick for a big man though.

Basically, when i compared him to KG and Duncan, I am assuming he is still an unknown quanitity. I was trying to say it is possible. I have no expectation of this guy what so ever untill he starts grabbin 10 rebounds off the bench per game, david lee style.

Fortunately he can play the 3, 4 or 5 based on background. In college he was a 5 after being a 1 and 3, in the NBA he'll be a 4 but can play the other two when matchup's provide a Kings advantage. He is unique and lets hope Coach Reggie can coach him to big things.

From what I have seen and heard about his game, his game reminds me a lot of Webber. I am guessing that was one of the reasons we drafted him. :)

I think his game might resemble a younger karl malone (the way he runs the floor) mixed in with a little KG to be honest. Im not saying he plays with the same toughness as the mail man but his general style is comparable.

Well, the mailman wasn't all that tough when he first came into the league. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't soft, but his tough rep came later. Lets hope that were finally lucky, and ten years from now, someone is saying that some young player reminds them of a young Jason Thompson.
