There is no topic

When I was in the Navy. Does that count? I didn't know we were focused on 50% and was simply going on the concept of a pay cut like to $10-11 mil.
Okay, first of all, if you left the Navy, and took a job making less money, you're doing it wrong; there aren't hardly any civilian jobs that pay less than the military (though, maybe it's different for officers, I'd have to take your word for it; as a blueshirt, there's no job I could have taken that wouldn't have been a raise, unless it was in food service).

Second of all, we are talking about a fifty percent pay cut because kingwin said:

i like the idea of getting Iggy...bt he is a unrestricted FA why do we have to give up so much? i would give them thorton and thats it.

... as though he believes that Iguodala turned down a $15M player option in order to accept a sign and trade for half that.

I was jerking your chain about the Navy. BUT, 8 more years and I would have retired and been able to get a healthy retirement check because in my line of duty, we got an extra amount of money over any other Commander or whatever I would have risen to. With my mouth I would have stopped at Commander.

I am having trouble keeping track of all the fanciful ideas about how to do this and that with the salary cap. I am VERY happy we have PDA to figure it out.

8 more years! I regret it.

I feel your pain: I went from E-1 to E-6 in seven and a half years (unheard of in most ratings, difficult, even in mine), and that's counting a reduction in rate from E-3 back down to E-1, and I still got out at the 11-year mark, in part because I knew that my mouth would keep me from ever making Chief. I'd be over 18 by now.

Sounds like there is an interesting story here but as a mod, you should admonish us to talk about basketball. :) 7 years is damn good.

I don't know how interesting it was, but I thought it was kind of funny: after I was "awarded" reduction in rate, I was kicked out of my A-School but, due to manning issues, and my having the requisite ASVAB scores, I was given the opportunity to go to a different A-School, rather than being sent to the fleet undesignated, and I took it. I finished #1 in my class at my new A-School, which came with it a meritorious advancement to E-4, so the joke was on them.

As an impartial third-party (and a mod), you're okay. You're in the "there is no topic" thread. Carry on. :)

Thanks you two, I was under the impression the birthday threads would come back once the location/ownership stuff was settled.

Again, I miss 6th. She was always right on top of these things. I'd love to see her return...

VF, you're going to be seeing quite a bit of Peter Capaldi in the future...or the past. Or the past-future, or the future-past...you get the idea.
