nip/tuck.. tomorrow. here is part of a blog i found that i really like

True beauty is raw, ugly, human. True beauty throws up on your shoes. True beauty’s eyes are bloodshot from being up all night fighting. True Beauty leaves a scar. True beauty hurts to look at – because it reminds us how ugly we all are. It holds a mirror up to our mediocrity; our need to blend in, to conform, to believe in the craven imagery sold to us at the checkout line in the supermarket. We hunger for True Beauty because we are feeding ourselves with dust to fill our need. We are gorging ourselves at the buffet table of illusion and wondering why we never feel full, never feel satisfied, never feel beautiful.

just general advice.

i'm going to go with something smaller then i originally wanted because of the chance my body will cheloid(sp?). and the get the 2nd half done if the first part comes out alright.

I was told I should eat beforehand. why?

how do you tune out the pain?

has anyone here had Raleigh at Wild Bills do theirs?

Eating is probably recommended so that you have the strength to withstand the procedure, the pain probably won't be as bad? I don't know, I don't remember ever being told to eat before I had mine done, though, and I've never read about this. You can tune out the pain by keeping conversations with the artist (the best way), by focusing on pictures, photos, or even reading something if you're able to based on the position you are in. It only hurts the worst the first 5-10 minutes of the procedure, then your body gets more used to it. And it only hurts during the tracing part, putting the color in doesn't hurt much at all.

The pain also depends on where you're getting it. I just got a couple more a few months ago when I went down south. Like RoyalDiva said..the outline is the worst part, cuz they use a smaller needle, but you get used to it after a while. Filling in the color is a piece of cake.
