I almost got caught up in a moment of ignorance when I caught someone stealing my plates from my car, right in front of where I live. 15 feet from my door.
It happened when I was coming home (my girlfriend gave me a ride). I see my sister come up to us and she said someone was trying to steal my plates. They got one and they dropped the other when my mom yelled out at them.
Me and my sister were ready to throw down. She was crazy mad she went inside to get a knife. My mom told her don't be stupid. I walked around for a few minutes just looking, and to calm me down. I don't know what I would have done if I caught him. This is the third time in the last year that someone has stolen something from my car.
It took an hour to contact the police to report it. I should've waved down the cop car that passed by. I have a description and the first four numbers on his plate, but it probably wouldn't help since that car was probably stolen too.

Bummer! Did they get the front or the back plate?

My friend has been in Iraq for 3 years. He came home on leave, for a week. He showed us personal video and images. They were disturbing and sad. He showed a video of a car bomb going off and it had a shock wave radius of 200yards. He also showed us an image of shrapnel lodged into his company mates head. I don't know when he'll be back home for good.

Thanks for the REALITY CHECK Mad D ....

My brother-in-law has been asked to go back ... has already served about a year there ... been back about a year, he's in the medical field .... the things he's told us

My brother is in Fallujah right now, and is due for a leave in about a month or so... they want him to do more counseling first...

Please everyone remember to support our troops.

I would like to take today and say "I love my parents".

I would also like to stop a moment and say a prayer for all those who can't be with their loved ones today. May God watch over them and keep them all safe.

I really don't like cheapskates. I ran an ad in our local rag to sell my Dell. I got one call from Mr. Cheap about it, but rather than ask about the computer itself, the first question was "What's the least you'll take for it?" He's called 3 times and I'm about ready to go off on him just because I don't like his approach.

A great sound system on a boat on the lake......Heavenly. Wait, is that just for crazy fast skiing, or for relaxing fishing? :p

I was dragged by a female friend to meet her in a Bastrop, Tx bar (very small, Texan town) and they were doing kareoke there and for some reason I actually enjoyed it. I really like to be in diverse environments.

Oh, I'm jealous! I've been wanting to do karaoke for a long time now. It's something that I've talked about doing with friends for a while now, but it's never materialized. The only caveat I would have is that it can't be in front of total strangers. I wish this country had those private Karaoke booths that Japan has.

yeah, it would be interesting to see how it would catch on here in the states. I hear its hugely successful and popular in Japan.

The whole point of Karaoke is to put yourself out there on a limb in front of friends and strangers. Let you express yourself musically. Bring you at least a 1/10th of the rush of actually being on stage in a performing band. Karaoke satisifies my urges for that at times, but nothing compares to performing your own music on stage, and having people really enjoy it. I'm out of that biz for the most part. Too man shady people. Everyone always trying to stab you in the back in the industry and locally. Tired of dealing wtih dive bar owners that think just because their club has been around forever they are god.
