Hope you've got your hatches battened down Widowmaker2K... I've got everything buckled down for the first significant snowfall of this winter, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's not Christmas time to me until there's snow on the ground.

So.....I have never seen/touched snow in my life.National Weather Service is predicting that we'll get snow in SacTown. Been a number of years since I've seen any here.

If memory serves, the last time the Sacramento area had significant snow was the year the Kings came to Sacramento - 1985.
oh, I want to see that. LOL
And yet, oddly enough, we only got about 4 inches of the stuff here. Of course, I know we'll get a lot more before too much longer. Glad we could share the wealth with those of you at the lower elevations.

I live at the southern edge of Yuba City. Most of Yuba city was dry, so it's apparent the storm was mainly to the South of us.
My streets were wet in the AM, but if there was any falling snow here over night (which I doubt), I slept through it or it didn't stick around long. I was actually disappointed. I would like to at least have seen snow falling.
Balderdash. 2 feels like -12? Sorry, but once you get down into single digits, I'm thinking it all feels like one thing: FREAKING COLD!!!
Coldest I've ever been in is 19, and that's as close as I need to be to FREAKING COLD. I certainly have no interest in -12. That's just nuts.Balderdash. 2 feels like -12? Sorry, but once you get down into single digits, I'm thinking it all feels like one thing: FREAKING COLD!!!
Haha, I know, I know, compared to you mountain (wo)men, we foothill people are basically city slickersLows in the low 20s? Mon dieu!!! It was 16 on my front porch this morning and is currently a balmy 24.

4.000 give or take. But we're in a part of the Sierras that tends to act as though it's about 5,000 ft.
I'll call your 5,000 feet and raise you sea level. You know I love ya, but you can have your cold/snow/ice. When we got dustings of snow in Citrus Heights/Carmichael/Rancho Cordova, I just kept thinking, "Thank God, no snow in Natomas."![]()
