A defensive mindset has to be ingratiated within the team concept.
Adelman believes that outscoring the opponent is the way to success. WRONG!
Just take a look at the Phoenix Suns, very similar style to the Sacramento Kings circa "2002". ( Funny, D'Antonini played for the Kings and with Rick Adelman)

The Maloofs have finally figured out that Defense wins championships and it prevails in every professional sport.

It all starts with coaching, Adelman does not preach defense. So, if Adelman comes back, don't expect anything more than another first round exit.

The Kings have gone as far as they can go with Adelman, it's now time to move on with a fresh team concept and new vision. Even if that means we have to sacrifice a year or two.

do you know this for certain that he doesn't preach defense? Sacrifice a year or two, it may be easy to say that but i doubt the maloofs wanna dump the franchise and lose tons of money when they can be making it to the playoffs in those years. And i have season tickets, so i totally disagree with the last part of it!

I think it actually STARTS with getting some defensive minded players on the team, THEN you coach them.
