The Wrestling Thread~

Meh.
I'll never root for two singles stars to win a championship over an actual tag team. I don't care who the stars are, or who the team is.
I don't disagree
Sami and KO have been joined at the hip since they came in together, this is a pretty logical summit at this stage of their story together, except for the fact that I think fans would have been even happier if Sami dethroned Roman. Still it's not like they just randomly put two of the top babyfaces together to get the belts off longtime champs. Hopefully they won't hold it for eons.

I hear you, but that makes no difference to me:

In the first place, out of all of the possible candidates to dethrone Roman, my personal choice wouldn't have been Cody or Sami, it would have been Jey. And, in the second place, it doesn't really matter to me how long Kevin and Sami have been joined at the hip. The only worthwhile payoff to two singles wrestlers teaming together is for those two wrestlers to feud against each other, and we just got done watching that.

Fair enough. I agree with you 99% of the time.
In this case, along any "family" or two members of a stable, they get implied team status when they aren't in a feud. It's my sole exception to manufactured tag teams because they make 100% sense in kayfabe.

I don't frequent this thread but I wholeheartedly agree with this.

So the Miz gets to wrestle/get knocked out by celebrities twice but Bobby got stuck with a token two minute appearance because Bray's in a situation?

Bianca Belair has become only the fourth wrestler(s) of the WrestleMania era to win a championship at a WrestleMania, hold it for an entire year, and then successfully defend it at the following WrestleMania:

Demolition (WM IV) [WWF Tag Team Championship]. Won from Strike Force, defended against Powers of Pain (and Mister Fuji) at WM V.
Brock Lesnar (WM 33) [WWE Universal Championship]. Won from Goldberg, defended against Roman Reigns at WM 34.
Becky Lynch (WM 35) [WWE Raw Women's Championship]. Won from Ronda Rousey, defended against Shayna Baylzer at WM 36.
Bianca Belair (WM 38) [WWE Raw Women's Championship]. Won from Becky Lynch, defended against Asuka at WM 39.

Trivia time: The Fabulous Moolah is one of three women to have won both the NWA Women's World Championship and the WWF Women's Championship. Without looking it up, can anyone name the other two?

Is Madusa Miceli/Alundra Blayze one of them?

The hardest part of this to me is not knowing how often both of these titles have been active vs. inactive/retired.

I think the other might be Melina.
