Yeah the million dollar question to me is whether Ari Emmanuel actually demanded Vince stay or Vince demanded any prospective buyer keeps him on to close the deal.

I think regardless of the truthful answer to that question, we would only hear the former though I highly suspect the latter.
 
There's a zero percent chance that anybody with both the bread and the desire to purchase WWE is inclined to feel beholden to Vince's demands. If Ari Emmanuel had said, "I'll buy the company for nine billion dollars, but only if you retire," Vince would be retired.

He's there because Emmanuel wants him there.

Respectfully I'm not sure Fox, NBC or Disney wouldn't have paid more under the condition that Vince walk away.

Wasn't Fox's current 5 year content deal approximately one billion dollars by itself? In that light, nine billion seems cheap. And would explain the stock decrease.

You're probably right, but that doesn't really refute what I said: I'm not convinced that any of those corporations wanted to acquire WWE. As I've heard it, both Fox and NBC are trying to divest themselves of their streaming platforms, and there's no real point in acquiring WWE if you're not going to use that. Disney for sure would have demanded that Vince walk away.

Looking at the difference between how they talk about Jordynne Grace on Bodybuilder Reddit and how they talk about her on Wrestling Reddit is ****ing bananas.
 
Jordynne Grace is doing her own thing and seemingly finding some real success in it. Props to her. She doesn't exist for the benefit of my eyes which did appreciate the meatier Jordynne. Still why would anyone knock her? Reddit you say?

What is depressing is how many males there are for which this perfectly benign and obvious statement is anathema to their entire ethos.

They never intend to have Vince McMahon take over creative, this is actually all kayfabe for Vince to retire "The Chairman" character in WWE vs WWE SummerSlam where the Loyalists of Vince (ala Corporation) will fight against HHH's renegades (D-X) to see who has to leave the company.
 
Vince apparently not being in attendance and RAW being watchable despite half the roster not being available due to travel issues only confirms everyone's suspicions about last week lol
 
Finally caught last week's Smackdown (okay, it was on in the background as I did revisions on some subtitles) and they're apparently setting up a Shinsuke Nakamura/Karrion Kross feud for some reason? If they insist, I'm gonna need Kross to do it all in character as Jesse Ventura because I have absolutely no faith in a post-Vince takeover WWE knowing what the hell to do with Karrion Kross.
 
I was wondering if that was a shoot injury: they seemed to go out of their way to not show her on-camera while she was being tended to, she didn't really take any bumps when she got back in the ring, and she was pretty much stationary post-match, until the cameras went off.

I'd love to understand how fans in the 60s and 70s weren't so fickle that they could have lived through two forever Bruno reigns. Hogan's reign was what ~4 years? felt like an eternity.
 
Well, it probably helped that, just as a for-instance, when Stan Hansen's feud with Bruno ended, he went to Japan. He didn't spend the next three years wrestling the same dudes on TV every week. I reckon that it was easier to keep the champion "fresh" in the territory days.
 
My understanding is the original Hogan era through the Andre screwjob wasn't too much different than Bruno though. They had the villain of the month (or however long the angle lasted), and most of them would then work the second tier after Bruno before heading out to another territory. But Bruno himself didn't tour. Hogan era didn't feature him working a squash on Superstars or whatever every Saturday. Sacramento never got Hogan or the A show AFAIR during his prime run. So he was still a main event and kept to just the SNME, an occasional highlight match, WWF's tapes, etc. the NWA champ was the only touring champ that I am aware of, so that worked a lot differently with a typically heel champ working against each territories top babyface and the chase.

Most of my 70s MSG/WWF era knowledge come from John McAdam's Stick to Wrestling podcast so I will admit I am far from an expert.
 
This is probably the first event in years where they would have been better off not finishing the card with the Bloodline.
