the Pacers and Kings are exceedingly close to swapping Ron Artest

This sure has made a average January day much more interesting, hasn't it?

for us, is that Artest doesn't go psycho on someone for whatever reason ... hurtling a television at them and killing them on contact.

chances of that are the same as chances of Lamar Odom having a last shot again

As the team is constituted now, Peaj will never be the player he was 2-3 years ago when Vlade and Doug were on the team. Peja is a phenomina shooter who depended on those two to get him open looks more than anything else. While Mike and Brad and the others on the floor with him do look his way and get him the ball when he's open, it's not the same and it won't be the same.

Well, they may not be happy about it - but if Peja start lighting it up like Reggie Miller ... they won't have many issues.

In my opinion, the key, for them, is that Peja regains his form and his confidence. While the key, for us, is that Artest doesn't go psycho on someone for whatever reason ... hurtling a television at them and killing them on contact.

I think those are fair assessments.

If this does go down, both teams are taking a chance. That just might be the difference that gets it done when others haven't been successful. There's a potential for both teams to either sink OR to come out smelling like a rose. And that has to be intriguing to Bird and Donnie, as well as Petrie and the Maloofs.

What I don't want to see IF IT HAPPENS is a bunch of Peja bashing on this forum. Peja has been and always will be a big part of the reason a lot of people even started following the Kings. He will, just like Vlade, Doug and Chris, own a big part of Kings history.

This was a comment made on Pacersdigest by a Laker fan in regards to Artest possibly going to Sac. I just thought it was kinda funny.

"Noooo. Damnit Mitch, just let them have Odom!!!!!"

Sacramento would love him. He would give you everything that this team lacks. The same reason Sacramento Kings Fans have latched onto Bonzi Well.s You talk smack when he's not on your team, but you'd love to have him, and you'd celebrate if you did. That's how it always happens.

Ditto. Well said.

All it does is basically say that extremely reliable sources are reported by a NY paper that say that the deal is close.

Nothing earth shattering, I promise.

funny. very funny
