I understand the guys we lost can never be replaced, but you have to understand that just because we lost something doesn't mean we can't be good or better in a different way with what we've gained. That team is GONE, those players are GONE. But I am not nearly closed minded or blind enough to say that without THAT team we won't get anywhere, and its "done".

That was a great team but just because we don't have Vlade whipping out passes, C-Webb draining game winners, or DC doing what DC did doesn't mean we are worthless. Its comparing apples and oranges.

This team is different and in ways may be better, in others, maybe worse.

I don't disagree with you STK I'm just judging the team that I see in front of me. No more no less. People can think they are great and I can think that they aren't all that great. They are just different opinions, about this team. I'm not saying they will never be as good, or never be better than that team, I'm just saying I don't see anything from the guys on this team that even warrants a discussion on it yet. They have shown nothing but a downward spiral since about halfway thru last season, it's pretty obvious (IMO) why, thats all. One way or another it will play out and we'll see.

Oh, and by the way, Miller has been named to 2 All Star teams. And counting. Vlade was named to 1.
And you put Vlade in his prime in the league right now and he'd be in the game every year. Brad can do one thing, and one thing only, better than Vlade did, and that's stick his midrange jumper. That's a dubious primary trait for a 7 footer.

Thanks I know who the broadcasting legend is. This is an online forum. Like I give a **** at my spelling. I make sure all my useage and spelling of words are correct at work since I run the IT department, and other times when it means something to me. Not on an online forum. It's for fun. Don't take it so seriously.

*snaps a Zeig Heil* <--- I made sure that was right just for you. ;)

If we are going to make silly comparisons then we might as well quit now.

How about comparing apples with apples rather than apples with oranges.

List the centers that Miller was up against for an All-Star spot each and every year and then do me a favour and compare that list to the list Vlade had to compete with every single year.

I am pretty sure Vlade had to compete with a handfull of future Hall of Famers while Miller was up against second rate centers for most of his career.

Ooooookay.

Looks like I wasn't the one with my panties in a bunch.

I thought it was hilarious that you would use the name of Harry Caray, arguably the most devoted fan ever to a succession of franchises that didn't do much in place of a term for ritualistic self-disembowelment.

Apparently you missed the irony.

NOTE: The best joke of all? We were both wrong. Harry CarAy was the broadcaster. Harry CarEy was a western movie star born in 1921 whose credits include Big Jake, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and How the West Was Won.

I just look at it as a cycel. One day, we will have players that will live up to Doug, Vlade, and Chris.

I just don't think that anybody knows about these players (neither do I)

wow...talk about vague.

the point is not that "one day" the kings will acquire players that are considered equals of those that existed during the kings elite years, but what the kings front office is doing now to rectify a blown experiment. the kings, as a franchise, will be around a long time, in sacramento or elsewhere. and yes, "one day" they probably be an elite team again, but the road to "one day" must begin now. otherwise, we're looking at another decade of mediocrity.
