The Brave Little Soldier returneth

I figured I'd start this thread so those of us so inclined can discuss his return - be it triumphant or otherwise. :p

Plus, there's certain to be a decent amount of discussion about the Rudy Gay trade.

Let's go Raptors!!!

I'd give everything in the world to see a Velociraptor come running onto the court, grab Kobe into his jaws, and exit stage left.

I've already lost interest. At the end of the day, it is still the GD Lakers I'm forcing myself to watch and I cannot do that for extended periods of time unless I have a vested interest. And, in this case, my only vested interest is in seeing Kobe Bryant trip over his own foot. (No, I'm not proud of myself for that comment but I'm being honest.)

I do like how the commentators keep referring to the Lakers recent performance against the Kings as some exemplar of how good they are.

And the officials huddle up to see if they can help the Lakers, who are currently down by 11.

Holy crap. BEST BUZZER BEATER SHOT EVER! And the Raptors did it in front of the more-than-stunned Staples crowd. LOL!

Let's take a tally:

1. Niners win.
2. Kings make good trade.
3. Kobe doesn't do squat.
4. I've got homemade blackberry brandy to sip next to the roaring fire.

Yep, pretty much my idea of a perfect Sunday.

I love how the broadcast team is already making provisional excuses in case Kobe doesn't do anything in his next 7 minutes...

"Well, you know, if he sits there, that Achilles tendon is liable to tighten up. He's trying to keep it loose..."

And oh look...HE'S BACK!!!

OMG! Kobe with a turnover, because ... well because the other team didn't step aside like the parting waters of the Red Sea.

OMG! Kobe is going to the free throw line. "We're probably going to see his first points since his return."

Kobe misses the first, the crowd gasps.

Kobe makes the second and the crowd breathes an audible sigh of relief.

OMG! Kobe shoots and scores off the glass for his first FG!!!

Slim, are you still here? I hope you're not missing this high drama.

As the half ends, first totally-unbiased commentator reports that he noticed Kobe "grimace" as he came down on his foot after a rebound. Oh noes!

And Nique remarks that "Kobe looks a bit slow. I don't know...he just looks a bit slow."

Smith adds, "I don't see him being the Kobe Bryant of old."

Brent Barry blathers something...he drives me nuts so whenever he talks I hear Charlie Brown's parents.
