I just wanted to say THANK YOU SACRAMENTO KINGS FANS for what you showed me last night.

I've gone my entire life without an NBA team. Born and raised in CT and now a college student in MA, I was never able to attach myself to the Knicks. Even with the current emergence of Jeremy Lin, something seems missing to me. Always has. It was never an issue of them not winning enough, because to me they just lacked players who showed passion, it was just a bunch of me-guys like Marbury. Now that I'm in Boston, I can't stand all the m******* Celtics fans. Refuse to root for a team with such a terrible fan base.

So last night I'm sitting in my dorm room doing some accounting homework, and the Lakers Celtics game had just ended. Decided I'd keep ESPN on and watch a little Durant/Westbrook action. What I saw was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. An energy I don't think I've ever seen outside of a playoff game in any hoops game, ever. A team that doesn't have a star player, just a bunch of young, hungry guys looking to shape their identity. A true enigma in Cousins. The love you showed for your city last night, the love you showed for one of my favorite childhood players (Webber) and the overall greatness of what I saw last night has left me with no other choice.

I want to be a part of this fan base, and from now on I'm going to stick with you guys no matter if you're in Sac town or any other city.

My name is Jimmy, looking forward to getting to know your internet selves.

Wooot welcome to the club Jimmy! Be patient with our young team and hopefully a few years down the road the arena will be packed like it was against OKC every night.

If you jump on now you avoid the "bandwagon" title:cool: Something special is brewing here with our young core of players Tyreke/Cuz/Thornton/IT/JTK
Kings fans are the best and most loyal fans you can find.

Last night the kings played with a lot more passion than in many games this season. They also played a ton of selfish games. If you start following the team I'm sure you'll see more selfish games, rotations that make you scratch your head, player malaise, frustration when nobody can make a hoop, but if you stick with it you'll be rewarded with some gems like last night (and hopefully many more)!

Thanks for those kind words. The team is starting to click. They will be embarking on a long trip real soon. This will be an important test for the young Kings to prove that they can play on the road and continue with improvement. Go Kings.

Great to hear. However, you said you root for them no matter what city they were in, not being a hometown guy that's fine and everything... but their are very few cities in the US that support their teams as well as Sacramento. A lot of the specialness that you connected with last night will be gone if they moved.

Welcome Jimmy. You sound like an awesome dude.

So here's how it works around here. I'm the smartest, most insightful, most loyal, have the most inside information on the team, most often predicts the future and what the Kings need, most loyal, most long time fan (this one's actually close to true, fan since age 9, at the moment we knew they were coming, before the 85 season started), and all around best liked person on this board. Then there's Brick who does the grades and should be the Kings GM. Then there's VF21, the uber poster/witty grandma/old school-basketball-family-Kings-flow-in-her-veins fan, then there's Jeremy who started this thing, but never posts... then there's every one else.

Anyway seriously this board is awesome and full of probably the most informed and knowledgeable basketball fans in the NBA if not the world, fer realz. I learn more here than I could ever hope to through any other media outlet.

Check out our member list and get in touch with MassachusettsKingsFan one of KingsFans biggest and more knowledgeable contributors and in your back yard.

There is quite a KingsFans base around the country and even many contributors around the world and many for the same reasons as you. The Kings fan base is unique in the NBA. Which is why the Kings held a sell-out record for 17-years with 9 of those years losing seasons. And now it looks like deja-vu all over again.

We live down in the San Diego area (after 14 years up in Sacramento area) and had Kings withdrawal so we decided to go to a game up in LA when they visited. Since Laker tickets were twice as much as Clipper tickets we decided to see if we could get a group together and go to a Clips-Kings game. Two years ago our "little" group turned out to be 30 SoCal KingsFans! Who would have guessed? We got two complete rows of seats in the lower level, met before the game at the ESPN Sports bar across the street and voila, started an annual thing. One of our group even lives down in Ensenada, Mexico 200 miles south of LA and he goes with us every year. So check us out in LA at the Kings-Clippers game saturday evening April 7!

So why not do the same in Boston?

Thanks for the warm reception guys! Can't say I'm surprised, though. Hammer, thanks for the deets, I'll keep that in mind.

First question: Whats the lowdown on coach smart?

Welcome!

There are a few other "New Englanders" around here. I certainly don't share your hate for the Celtics though:cool:

The Kings have been my go-to team since I was 9, and this was while growing up in a household full of Celtics fans. I wish them nothing but the best, and of course I follow them as they are the only basketball team in town, but nothing could beat Kings success.

I do my best to go the Garden every year when the Kings are playing in Boston, however with the lockout killing the schedule the Kings aren't coming to town this season.

First question: Whats the lowdown on coach smart?
Coach Smart is looking to be one of the best young coaches in the league. His main skill is communication ability, and ability to develop good relationships with his guys, especially his main guys, and especially Demarcus. He's a player's coach, but he's not a softie, and will tell it like it is. Extremely refreshing, and I might say that most around here are cautiously optimistic that we stumbled upon a gem of a coach that could stick around for a long, long time.

^^^^ Yup. He also was a long time assistent to an NBA coach and seems to have picked up the good traits. He was head coach for the Warriors last year and improved them only to be fired as the new owner wanted someone else - a guy with no head coaching experience of all things. I doubt you will find anyone on this forum that dislikes Smart personally or as a coach.

Enormous Denver Broncos fan (sorry raiders/chargers fans). Been there for that team since day 1 of my existence. Other than that, semi-casual royals fan.
Weird, I know.

Craziest/Most Loyal of any Liverpool fan out there. Also somewhat of a Blazer fan. Oh, and don't forget about my Red sox. If anyone thinks this is a random assortment of teams, it's not, there's a reason for me supporting each one :)
