Televising old Kings game

Sachornet

Prospect
Would any of you watch classic Kings games from the past 20 years or so if they televised them on comcast sports net? I think it would be cool to revist and see games from the Jwill/Cwebb era, seattle playoff series with Mitch, Theus/Thorpe era, etc. again.

With all the copyright regulations, would this even be possible if it was something the Kings broadcast network would want to do?

I think it would be really cool (just don't show the Lakers series I cannot watch it anymore). Maybe have some sort off color commentary sidekicks on the side like that ESPN classics show.

It would be better then what they show on CSN now.

NBA TV back when it was "NBA.com TV" used to be great about showing classic games - I mean they showed them 24/7. Your best shot now is ESPN Classic.

I want to see Game 5 again. :(

THAT game 5. You know, "92-91, SACRAMENTO LEADS BY 1, AND THE LAKERS...TAKE...A TIMEOUT"

The quote I remember from that game is...

(seconds before Bibby's shot)

Walton: "Give me players!"

Snapper: "They've got players!"
~~

You would think that they could at least air games from the last couple years from CSN. Might be difficult to get the stuff from several years ago allowed though. (I have no idea though)

Was that the same game Samaki Walker hit a THREE AFTER the buzzer before the half and it counted?

I prefer "Horry for the win." ;)

::rolls eyes::

Yes hoopsfan, we ALL know you are a Lakers fan but they do have their own forum for comments like that. I know you're a contributor and it was cute at first, but come on, it's getting a bit old now.

Game 4, if memory serves.

and yeah, I know hoopsfan, and I like your posts and all, but like Ryan said, that was the second time you said that to my posts, about the same thing...

I mean, it still hurts :( You know?

Old games

I would love to see game 1 (or was it game 2?) of that Kings Sonics playoff series back in 90-something... Mitch, Brian Grant, Sarunas Marculionus, Lionel Simmons and the gang put a scare in the #1 seed. It was the first and only time the Kings made the playoffs in the Richmond era, and I was just stoked that they were IN the playoffs.

Anyone else have a game they would like to turn the clock back on and see again??

Yeah, it does hurt and I don't come here to be reminded of that. I've been quit long enough about hoopsfan's postings and sorry, this is getting rediculous. I have NEVER seen one positive post come from her about the Kings.

Thanks, hoops.

I'd also like to see the game where Peja got injured and Doug came back out (having also been injured) to play, against the Mavs in the semis. We ended up winning :D

And you probably won't. Do you say positive things about the Lakers?? I don't expect you to.

This isn't a lakers board though.

I know..and I'm not a Kings fan.

I fully expect for you all to bad mouth my team..I live here, I'm used to it. But don't expect me to gush on and on about the Kings...ain't gonna happen.

I deleted my post and apologized. Do you want my firstborn too?? ;)

I think they're just trying to say there are some things that still hurt. Rubbing salt in the wounds just makes it worse and probably always will.

Your team has been to the big show. You've watched them win it all and get their trophies.

We haven't. We came incredibly close but your team broke our hearts. It just seems a little cruel for a Laker fan on a Kings board to have to keep bringing that up...

And thanks for the apology. Now back to the topic at hand...

I think some of those old games would bring better ratings than some of the garbage on TV in the summer. Some of Jason Williams' early games were unbelieveable. I'd love to be able to see some of them again. Maybe people should start sending letters and emails to the Maloofs... and John Thomas... and anyone else they can think of.

;)
