We are stuck in the cross roads, I know this team will be great in a year or 2 but as of right now should we try to get to the playoffs and get some experience or tank and get something (like a big) ?

We are in the Western conference so getting the 8th spot is going to be hard enough.

No more tanking please. Why the heck would I waste my money on a team that's intentionally losing games? That'd be dumb. That's an insult to the fans IMO. They have a chance to start winning some of these games now, go ahead and do it. Getting Reke and JT was different. Those teams legitimately weren't good. THis team has no reason to intentionally tank. Oh and the fact that most of our horrible players/useless players are veterans(Udoka/K9/Noc).

Look, I tried to tag an article for people to read yesterday, and they really should have. The way you normally "tank" is by playing your kids. That's a great stretgy. They lose games, but gain experience at the same time. But now our kids are the best things we have going. Our kids are the very reason we have done as well as we have done. So how would you propose we go about "tanking" now? Bench the kids? That would be idiotic. Intentionally throw games? Even worse.

You play your kids in our situation. If they win, well maybe your future isn't so dim anyway. If they lose, you earn another kid who maybe can turn the tide. Either way its not "tanking", its looking to the future.

I didn't see an option for 'just play the damn game' so I didn't vote.

Yea, this team really cant tank. The amount of draft slots we would gain isnt enough to bench young players. Not even close. After the deadline is when I usually get upset with the Kings. Veterans dont need to be 'showcased' at that point. After this deadline I want to see players under 27 and only players under 27.

If we can take the Lakers to double over time and overtime (and should have beat them twice) as well as all the other great teams we beat or nearly beat... with a bit of consistency we could make the playoffs. Unfortunately consistency is what this team is not. As far as the one piece away goes... it really depends on the piece. What if it was Chris Bosh? Id say yes.... Okafor, maby. Hilton Armstrong? No...

Seriously? I feel as though this topic has been plenty covered and clarified. You can't tank by playing the kids. It's called "developing the future."
We're like the second youngest team in the NBA. If we were to tank, I guess the lineup would go something like:

PG - Beno
SG - Udoka
SF - Nocioni
PF - Armstrong
C - May

Hey, maybe you've got something here. I'd buy a plane ticket and shell out my hard-earned cash for some garlic fries and a chance to see this team on the court. Young teams are inconsistent. They'll play to the level of their opposition because they don't know any better. They'll get better - have patience.

Well. It isn't this simple. We should play to the best of our ability to allow the Petrie to accurately access who will stay and who will go. If they all play their best, and we still are in the late lottery, we know there needs to be a tweak. If we are injured or we are just tanking, it serves no purpose other than a high lotto pick. I think we need to play to win, and if we make the playoffs, go from there. If we don't make the playoffs(most likely scenario b/c we are in the WC) then we should make a tweak(trade or FA signing). Once we are in the lotto, anything can happen.

Rest Tyreke, I know his ankle still hasn't healed. Give more PT to guys like Casspi, Greene, Brockman and Armstrong to see if he has a future.

I read this about ten times and tried to come up with a tactful way to say this...

and failed.

Are you out of your freaking mind? Really?

We have an incredible young player leading the pack for ROY, and you want to rest him so we can "give more playing time" ... blah, blah, blah?

Good grief, dude.

I do not mean any personal insult by this, but I do believe this might qualify as the dumbest thing I've seen posted on this board ever. And I mean EVER.

Thats a point that cant be criticized or scrutinized until the Kings actually acquire that player and then fail. My point was a prediction. Your criticism is premature. WIN.

Play the youth...We arnt going to be winning all that much. Should pick anywhere from 7-12th when its all said and done. That could get us a player.
