T.J. Ford

If the Raptors resign Calderón, Ford probably will be available. I think he'd be a good PG for the Kings system, do you like him?

It would probably cost Artest or Brad Miller.

TJ Ford is under contract until at least 2010; why would he be going anywhere?

Plus, he makes eight million dollars.

Because Calderon will probably get a similar contract, so the Raptors could think about trading Ford and get a better SF or C.
1. I wouldn't bet on it. Calderon isn't that much better than Ford, if he's actually better at all.

2. IANA capologist, but I'm pretty sure that how much money you can be signed to is relative to how much you got paid on your previous contact. I'm not sure that Calderon can just jump from what he's getting paid now to eight million dollars.

2. I'm pretty sure that Toronto is happy with their SF rotation, and we can't make a deal to trade them a center.

No. He's a good player, but no. He's come close to retiring twice already because of injury

It looks like a nice fit, but it's just not worth it on so many levels...now for Kenny Thomas ABSOFRUITLY. I like TJ and know he's worth more, but there's not much more I'd be willing to part with to land him. Just draft a better, healthier version of him in Augustin or Collison in the draft.

Look, I like Ford as well but there's no way we can just jump on him like that; for starters, I get the feeling that Toronto likes Ford more than Calderon, so if one of the two has to go, it's probably Calderon. For reference, I chart Calderon weekly because he's on my fantasy team, and ever since Ford's came back I've noticed a precipitous dip in Calderon's stats--and that was even before he even got moved to the bench. I think the pressure of having a talented PG playing alongside him is finally getting to him as the season draws to a close--I don't think those two can coexist, and it will only be a little bit longer before Raptors brass realizes that, if they haven't already. And having said all that, I don't think Calderon will fit this team nearly as well as Ford, although both are clearly the up-tempo types, but we can certainly use Ford's infusion of speed and explosiveness if we are to keep the, ah, let's just say, "slower" and more fundamentally sound Beno Udrih. If Calderon is the one let go, then I'd say look for greener pastures for a PG away from Toronto.

it'd be nice if we could trade salmons/moore for ford... no one wants kenny or reef, we might as well give up on that idea... trade artest or let him walk... i dont care... we can sign someone else... pietrus, gerald green, matt barnes....
