Marvel's Quicksilver is WAYYY cooler, but the Flash has more namesake

All incarnations of the Flash can move, think, react at superhuman speeds. Some, notably later versions, can vibrate so fast that they can walk through walls, travel through time and can also lend and borrow speed. Furthermore, all members have an invisible aura around their bodies that prevents themselves and their clothes from being affected by air friction as they move at high speed.

Quickly, as I don't have much time:

Lobsang Ludd (Thief of Time - Terry Pratchett)

Okay, so I would hope at least somebody knows the book, or at least the Discworld series, would make things easier. Lobsang (né Newgate) Ludd used to be a member of the Thieve's Guild who found him abandoned on their doorstep. However, it didn't take long for the History Monks to discover his amazing abilities in bending time, so they took him over and started teaching him the secrets of their way. This didn't work out too well, because Lobsang knew much more than they did, without knowing why. In the end it turns out that Lobsang has a double, Jeremy Clockson, who is him, only born a fraction of a second later, and with whom he unites when touching him. At this point, it becomes clear that the two are the son of Wen the Eternally Surprised (first of the History Monks) and Time herself and he inherits all of her powers. As wiki puts it:

My pick isn't the guy with the effaminate hair or the guy in the armor, but rather the child in front. Cute, right?

Bit of background info: There's basically two saga's revolving around the universe he's from, the Belgariad and the Mallorean. In the Belgarian the setting is explained. Basically, there are a few gods that each have their own people. One of them, however, is evil and starts trouble (wars, bloodshed, thievery of very important magical artefacts and the like). In the Belgariad that guy is killed, in the Malloreon, the new god is instated, which would be Eriond. He plaed a role in the other things as well, but I'm not going into that, just read the books, it's a good and pretty light read.

The thing about Eriond, as he's the fulfillment of a prophecy, the whole energy of the universe is concentrated upon him. He's even supposed to replace all other gods and become te one sole god of humanity. In addition to being pretty goddamn powerful, he's also really, really nice. So far, my heros have all been a bit ambiguous in that department. Manhattan is apathetic, the Haitian ethically pretty neutral, Lobsang is more practical-minded and not unerringly good. Eriond is. He was raised specifically to be pure of heart, so that he'd be able to steal a (unimaginably powerful) magical artefact and it kind of carried over into his adult- and later godhood. He never kills anybody, but rather prefers to persuade, heal (mental) illnesses or take away the powers of his opponents. Of course, he can afford to be so picky, seeing as how he's untouchable and stuff.

So, why the chick and not the bada** assassin or monster gladiator in the background? Well, she is one of my favorite tragic heroines.

A paltry explanation from wikipedia:
Child of Sky, Namer and Singer. A young woman of human and Lirin descent, she is a talented musician who uses music as a force to change the world around her. Having suffered a great deal of trauma, she's become self-sufficient by necessity but is prone to bouts of melancholy when she thinks about all she has lost. Rhapsody is also unnaturally beautiful, a fact that escapes her and brings her more trouble than fortune.

Besides being an adequate warrior, proficient with both sword and bow and arrow, she possesses a cool magical ability that enables her to alter the identity of the people she sings about. If anyone hears a single note she changes your true name, (among other things) freeing you from any binding pacts you may have had and ending the benefits or consequences thereof, forcing the implications carried by the new name upon you as well. You want to change from Spawn to Bernie Madoff (switching you from one personal hell to another)? All she has to do is sing it.

I will try and answer any questions this may bring up to the best of my ability.

Well, they both have that child prodigy thing going for them, but, in character, Eriond is far more similar to Aslan (if we're keeping with your team). Even when he's very little and can only speak one word, he has as great an understanding of the world as the oldest and wisest character in the story. Once he becomes a youth, he is pretty much omniscient (although he only occasionally lets on) and, for instance, is considered by Ul, the father of all gods, as an equal.
 
I'm assuming because GeraldWallace commented on the other draft this morning, he is unaware he is slated to pick in this round.

It's a 4 round head start. Everyone had the opportunity to pick previously assembled teams during the declaration phase. That's kind of why I was so surprised that only 3 people actually chose to do so...

A true American hero, this is the man that led the miracle on the Hudson, and what a miracle it was. Everyone on board the plane survived. He took a risk to save everyone's live and he succeeded for that he is one of the bravest and fearless men around.
