G-League
I'm gonna be down in Vegas on the 15th-19th of July to gamble/drink/party like a single guy again and i would like to go to one of the summer league games if possible. I believe the league is between the 9th-17th? If so, any schedule out yet? Maybe ticket info?

Thanks! :)

Thanks El Ray. I should make it out to at least some of those.

I assume you drive to LV, so you have your vehicle while your there?

Yep. Bajaden will join us along with Mrs. CruzDude and drive up from Solana Beach, about 3-1/2 hr. We will stay for the Wed-Fri-Sat Kings games and drive back after the saturday game.

When I came down from Auburn to Las Vegas in the old days, sometimes I'd drive over 80 to Reno then South on 395, a fabulous drive if you take the day to enjoy it. Other times just straight down I-5 and cut over at Bakersfield on 58 to Barstow then 15 on into Las Vegas. About 8 hr or so. :p

But if you don't have a car no problem! As long as you stay reasonably close to Tropicana Blvd or Paradise Rd ,there is a great bus system that drops off right at Thomas & Mack from both directions. Day passes I think were $2.50 and allowed on-off anywhere along the routes during about 12 hr period. Or you can stay at the old AmeriSuites across the street from UNLV and a 5 or 6 min walk to Thomas & Mack. They share a parking lot with the Hofbrauhaus, a replica of a real German beer house (Brauhaus), that is a ball every night with real german beer garden bands. Good luck

However, you can get hotel rates as low as $25-$35 a nite if you follow the link in the thread above.

But if she really loves you.............???

Game takes about hour with 10 min quarters and no foul outs until 8 fouls I think. She will likely see a whose-who of Las Vegas sitting courtside and in the stands. Always a bunch of name folks there from entertainment, sports, etc. Good luck ;)

SoCal KingsFans.com going to Vegas Summoer League

The SoCal KingsFans are on the move once again and some of us are driving to LasVegas to watch the Kings Summer League team of FA's and draftees show their stuff. Likely too Tyreke will play but not all games (my guess) and maybe Donte, Omri, and the Brockness Monster (if he is re-signed by then).

Our group (Cruzdude, Bajaden) will drive up on Wednesday 14 July to watch the game that evening anid stay thru Saturdays game. I'm bringing the SoCal KingsFans banner we weren't allowed to use at StaplesCenter in case a bigger group of us materializes and we can show off a bit.

We're staying at the Flamingo on the Strip and will meet up every night at Margaritaville in the Flamingo. Look for our "Kings" or "KingsFan" T-shirts somewhere near the main bar. Or leave a message for "KingsFan.com" at registration or concierge desk at the Flamingo. We"ll do our best to get them to help coordinate. Otherwise see you at the Kings games Wed, Fri and Sat.

:D

My wife and I will be vacationing in Vegas that week and will be attending all six of the Kings games.

I plan on doing what I did last year by catching four summer league games each of those six days and then breaking down the games of those players on both teams which stood out. (What better way to spend a week then to watch 24 games up close and personal and see all the young super-stars before they've made a name for themselves?)

This is my favorite week of the year, so I'm very excited that it's getting closer.

Last year Rodrigue Beaubois from the Mavericks, was a player I didn't know anything about, but ended up being my favorite non-Kings player to watch play. He just seemed to dominate the guard play out there for the games I watched.

I thought he easily outplayed Brandon Jennings in the first game I watched of his, and here is the statline from the second game of his that I saw against the Rockets.

His statline: 34 points (12/21 field, 7/12 3pt, 3/3 line), 5 boards, 8 assists, 2 TOs
It was a fun game to watch.

Beaubois didn't get much playing time this year, but if any of you watched the final game between Dallas and San Antonio, you might recall him being inserted in that game and completely carrying the Mavericks for a very long stretch. So, I think he'll have a better chance at breaking through that line-up next year.

Other Non-King players who played well were:
Anthony Randolph (GS) (Summer league play really suits him)
Austin Daye (Detroit) (Looked like a star two times out and a dud in another one)
Robin Lopez (Phoenix)
Blake Griffen (Clippers)
Eric Gordan (Clippers)
Sonny Weems (Denver)
Javale McGee (Washington)

It will be fun to see which of the new young crop of players ends up standing out above the crowd.

We normally sit center-court on the 'main' side about 14-16 rows up. I'll be looking for Cruzdude and other So-Cal kings fans for the days they'll be there.

So for those of you who make the trip out, I'll see you at the game.
