My early thoughts
-I was never anti-Rondo. I've long been a fan and I like his recommitment to defense and that he looks more willing to drive this pre-season.
-I feel WCS and Boogie should be the starting pair despite Trill's inexperience and limited offense. My view is thus: You want to start out with your defense stated. The bench can always fire up your offense. WCS can guard stretch 4s and recover from the perimeter. His defensive mobility is really impressive, but he is weak on reacting to rebounds. It's weird, but he understands moving before the shot goes up, but loses track once it goes up. However, Rondo and Cousins are great at rebounding and rebound position, so it balances out.
-Anderson understands how to play within the system. His start is interesting.
-I would like to see Casspi be more aggressive. I feel like he's stepped off the gas with Collison and Marco a part of the nouveau bench mob. However, this is not his game. Be aggressive Omri!
-Not a fan of the Cousins threes. Here's my point: Boogie can still stretch the defense with above the FT line jumpers. Yes, 'advanced stats' clique hates this, but actual stats do not. If you are far better at the high jumper than you are at three, then it's a far better shot. You don't ignore the obvious in pursuit of an idealogy. Hit the long 2 if you can drain it.
-Kawhi Leonard is really, really good.
-I think I saw RayMac go to dap after Rudy Gay hit a FT and then realize what he was doing. <3 Ray
