Finally, season begins for the Sacramento Kings. Weak after the NBA circus started again, Kings are finally joining it. We are starting with a 3 games handicap courtesy of the NBA scheduling committee. In a big picture - it won't matter much anyways but year, after year, after year - we get a trip to Texas as an appetizer. After that - we should just skip the meal. Being 0-3 after playing a team that is good and that came back in their home city after a year of exile, playing a champ in their home and then playing a 65+ wins team at their home opener after they lost to Hawks - it is a reality for us and it would be the same for at least 22/26 remaining teams. Now in the past we have swept Texas triangles before but that is long gone.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Following the brutal 3 game trip - there is a 3 game home stand and it should be 3 easy games stand except there aren't any easy games for the Kings except when they play each other simply because one would have to win on default. Sonics have shown that they can play great for 3/4 of the game but don't know how to finish it. Cavs are the NBA finalist from last season, very vulnerable at the moment but they still have Lebron and he still can go for 50 with no Ron to bully him. Wolves suck and there is no excuse losing to them. On the other side we have Kings wounded, with no confidence, no PG no PF no C, no rebounding, no passing, no defense, no chemistry and no confidence. Did I mention the face that they have no confidence already ? The way I see it - there is no way that we will win all three but we might lose all 3.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, we won't lose 82 games, we won't even lose many more than 50, we will have winning streaks, we will beat good teams on a rare occasions, we will have bright nights and good performances. 82 is a pretty big number and thus the theory of big numbers is on our side. We won't for the 2nd straight year see postseason and we won't trade Kenny Thomas. Remember the teams that used to come to ARCO and we killed them in the first quarter in our good days when we shot 80% and they just caved in and dropped their pants. Well, that is us now. We lost all 3 games before they even started. Our starters did solid against their scrubs during the very excessive garbage time so the scores looked presentable. Let's face it - we haven't really competed yet and thus there is no point to talk about winning.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We need hope. Hope that things will get better, in the big picture, in the long run. Losing is hard, sucking is unbearable. Hopefully, Hawes will start playing soon and Udrich. Justin will hopefully get cleared too, Douby might improve etc... We need something. There are basically 2 kinds of Kings fans. the "old generation (respectfully)" guys that have been there since 85, people that have seen losing and sucking over and over again. People that remember Previs Ellison. That second group is what i call "spoiled generation" which I belong too. People that fell in love with Kings in 1998, people that only knew winning and bitter disappointments.People that are used to post play, great passing, back door cuts, threes etc ... People that only saw "sucking' getting destroyed by the Kings. People that would jump ship more likely. It is a destiny of a small market team which make a bad turn somewhere and now it is lost in a labyrinth. Such teams are more likely to struggle but they do have a soul because their fans are real and they are rarely "player" fans. Those fans support the team with or without a superstar or the 50 wins per season. Not everything is about winning. Now if You are a 'player fan" which is perfectly fine - You have it easier. Chances of losing and sucking aren't too big. Now if You are by any chance Kenny Thomas fan - god bless You. I think that the SAR fans community has a highest suicide rate. A long and meaningless career full with failure and defeat.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
By coincidence I looked at an article that was comparing ticket prices of the NBA franchises and I was unaware about the disparity between the product and the price that Kings franchise is having right now. I just went - WOW ! Some of You are getting robbed blind. Now that money might be good for Vlade, Webber, Pedja & co. but right now - it is just beyond reasonable. Worst part - since the things aren't going well - it will show on the stands @ ARCO. This team needs all support that can get just to compete. It will be interesting to see how loud those stands will be, how soon we are going to hear boos. Is is a bad situation and it isn't that players fault that they are as bad as they are. Whoever put them together is responsible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mavs kicked our butt "driving" in the medium gear and allowing us to score 100 points. It was expected and it certainly wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. We couldn't stop them, couldn't rebound, we had more turnovers than assists, or front line yet again didn't exist. We couldn't even block a shot. They have Terry and Stackhouse on the bench. Clearly a team way above our "class." I hoped that we could put up a figt but I was wrong. On the bright note - Kenny made a basket.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM award went to one and only Jose Juan Barea who had a career game and now he belongs in the group of players who under career highs had Sacramento written all over. BTW tonight against the Rockets - he scored 4 pts. We are a very potent "steroid"

LW-VC award went to Eddie Jones just because he played against Kings and didn't score

JHA award went to Mikki "please put glue on my hands" Moore

RAand1 went to yet again to Kenny "the garbage" Thomas
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonics are next and they are also 0-3 so there will be a first. One things that works for us is the fact that we are already on the bottom and we can only go up. Hopefully, ARCO will lift this group of players to maybe even win this game. We will have to have a good start and rebound better than we did. It would be interesting to see which team would choke more in the close game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salmons - filling up the stats sheet mainly during the garbage time but still nice to see so keep it up.
Martin - playing well but he just isn't good enough to win a game by himself
Cisco - now that is more like it
Brad - more fouls than rebounds
Moore - had his first start for the Kings and it went just great:rolleyes:

Thomas - garbage
SAR - metusalem
Douby - there is You chance kid - You have to do more and watch Your head
rest - mateen (we could really use Mateen these days)
Coach T - let's see how well he prepares them for the home opener
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonics aren't any good either but they are young and have so much upside. Durant will have a career game tomorrow night. Sonics were very competitive for 3/4 in all of their losses but they couldn't close any of the games. Let's hope that they don't figure it out. They will abuse us on the boards. Just think - Wilcox from last season. He was killing us and he will continue to do so. Collison is due for a good game - unfortunately. TDM will go to Swift, LW-VC will go to Earl Watson and other awards are a "given"
This will be close.

True that. However, take that bright note away for literally hitting the side of the basket with one of his layups and also managed to do this without a defensive soul within 6 feet of him.

"SAR - metusalem"

I didn't know what metusalem meant so I have to research what it meant...

I came up with Methuselah, the oldest person whose age is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. According to the Bible, he reached the age of 969 years..

Am I correct in believing that SAR = ancient :D or is there another meaning.

amazing. every team that we play this year will have a player that will get a career high on us. if its not points its rebounds, if its not rebounds its points. durant will drop 40 and we will lose convincingly

My GOD when will comcast sports net, or whoever is responsible for the audio, PLEASE fix it? The buzzing is driving me crazy.

GO Kings!
Is it Comcast Sportsnet or is it DirecTV? The audio is pathetic. Plus, on my DirecTV guide it shows that there is a channel for HD. But I go to the channel and it's black.

reggieeee....oh reggieeee....

you see that big buff guy with the name "watkins" on the back of his jersey?

yes, yes that guy....
Well, what I wanted to say is that Cherokee Parks out there is abusing us, so maybe...maybe you know, Watkins can come in and look somewhat intimidating to Cherokee.

Thank you.
