The Clips don't need a another PF. They already have a ton of money tied up in Randoff. Ditto the pt guard position with Davis. So, I think they might be willing to trade out of the number one spot. They would probably would like to have Thabeet because Camby is not going to be around much longer. They could use help at the three, but there aren't any good one's that warrant a pick that high. If they stay at number one, then I think pressure would force them to take Griffin.
Memphis doesn't need a point guard, unless they're sure Connely isn't their guy. They don't need a center. Griffin would be perfect for them, but he'll be gone. If they want to go big, then Hill would be the next best choice, but they could have him lower in the draft. So a trade might be doable here.
Oklahoma to me is a no brainer. They need a center and if Thabeet is there, then they take him. But, one never knows.
I would say that there's a 10% chance that Rubio slides to the fourth spot. I think there's 50% chance that a trade can be made to move up and take Rubio. And before we get outragious with our thoughts. The most I would give up is our 23 pick and our 4th pick to move up, and I'm reluctant to do that. We're rebuilding and we need as many good players as we can get. Evans, Jennings, or Lawson may end up having better careers than Rubio. My point being that we just don't know for sure. I can't tell you how many times I bet the pot in a game of high/low when I had an ace and a king showing and drew an ace.
I could buy into those chances - a 60% chance of either getting Rubio at 4 or trading up, but there is one very important thing to consider: Petrie Never Trades Up in the Draft!
