So who can we trade this freaking pick for?

All-Star
Amare? Who else? Seriously we need to do what Boston did last year, this rebuilding thing just isn't really working too much.

what the hell for ?

who cares ?

we can trade for Lebron who will have an imediate careeer ending injury

The big probelm for us getting Thabeet is OKC -- they are sitting at #3, and just tried to trade for Chandler a few months back. Thabeet would seem to be exactly what they are looking for, unless they fall in love with Hardin or some such. But yeah, if he somehow slips past them, that would be a solid save.

Otherwise that #4 guy is likely Jennings or Evans for us I would think.

I don't even want the #4.. I would rather give it away for nothing than keep it... Why? Because that pick represents how utterly ****ed this team is and how unlucky we are now, and since this team has come to Sacramento.

So if I were the Maloof's I would give this pick away and donate the money you get from it to charity..

I want Jennings in Sactown.

I still like the idea of Beno + Pick 4 to the Clippers for Pick 1 though ;) :D.

Why the hell would they do that? I like the idea of trading a bag of potato chips for Kobe.

Watching the lottery, I knew OKC's name wouldn't be called. I've had this funny feeling for months that they'd end up with Griffin or Thabeet, which is what they need. Looks like I had this feeling for a reason so far...

Here's my trade that I would love that I posted in the other thread:

Like:

Jordan Hill
pick 23 and/or 31
Nocioni

for

Rubio
Marko Jaric

Why would Memphis do it? They need a physical power forward and Jordan Hill provides that. Nocioni would be great off the bench behind Rudy Gay providing toughness and defense. The 23 and/or 31 pick could also be enticing for them.

Why would Sac do it? One word: Rubio.

Dear lord, do we really have to endure 1,000,000 not-gonna-happen Rubio trades between now and June or can we please just accept that he's not coming to Sacramento?

It's tough. Rubio and Griffin are pretty much slotted to go either 1-2, and the Clippers and Memphis can sorely use a point guard--Memphis also needs a power forward, so it's basically zero chance to trade for either.

From then it gets a bit interesting. #3 Oklahoma City has its most pressing needs probably at shooting guard or center, but since shooting guard is the easiest position to fill when it comes to free agency don't be too surprised if they go for Hasheem Thabeet, sadly (interestingly enough, OKC has desperately been trying to find their next "big" in the draft without much success--they've drafted Mouhamed Sene, Robert Swift, and Johan Petro in the past few drafts, and now two of them are out of the team and one is chronically injured). James Harden is a possibility here too, but they already have enough scorers, so I think they'd like to get an interior defender to cover up for their fast pace team. So unless something drastic happens, I think they'd go with Thabeet, and it would be unlikely for them to trade him if they do get him.

If that's what goes on in the draft, that would be one of our worst case scenarios--first bad position in the draft, then no chance at Rubio, no Thabeet gambit...what then? Really becomes tough. Most proven player on the board would be Harden, but do we really need another wing scorer when we can fill out holes?...Not worth it. I don't like Brandon Jennings either, question the defense and whether he can fit into a team concept, but I would prefer him to Harden if it comes down to it. Hill can swat shots, but he's a role player all the way on a team where we are absolutely stocked with bigs of similar size. DeRozan--I think he's already a bust, turnover prone, extremely raw, a black hole; Evans has flaws but I think he's a bit selfish, and we don't need a player of his prototype. So I'd go for Stephen Curry--his shooting is a great asset, he's smart and competitive, and I think he can develop his passing ability--but that requires us to trade down the draft. But that's just a preliminary layout.

2 words: Rubio. Lima. :)

Don't trade the pick. The value of #4 isn't that great. Really in this draft #4 to to the end of the lotto has similar talent in my eyes. I don't see a lot of teams going after the pick. Take the best player available and hope you get another piece with a chance to add a star in a much stronger draft next year.

We're being punished twice apparently. First we get screwed out of the thing that could save our team, then we get to here about fantasies how to get it back. I don't even know what to say anymore.

Clippers will pick Griffin or Rubio. If they pick Griffin...

Grizz will pick Rubio for sure and get the good point guard they've been trying to get for yrs.

OKC will pick Thabeet since they have a good young PG in Westbrook already and a good SF/SG in Jeff Green and a good SF/SG in in Durant. They need size in the middle.

That leaves us Harden, Hill, Jennings as the possible picks. But I would really take a look at DeMar DeRozan. He is a freak athlete, has great size and his skills has been improving. He can be a more athletic version of Melo in a few yrs.

Thing is, it's not really an optimal place for us to draft unless something crazy happens where Thabeet somehow lands there. It's hard to see us trading up to get Rubio, Thabeet, or Griffin assuming they all go before us, anyway--and the remaining guys at the 4th pick aren't too enticing in terms of team needs at all. If a team likes James Harden, Jordan Hill, or Brandon Jennings with our pick, then we can perhaps scour another 1st round pick or a useful vet from that team, and get a lower draft pick (like #7-12th) so we can get someone more suitable to our needs--I personally like Stephen Curry.

i can see trade dealings definitely being the go come draft night. Petrie will do something drastic considering we didnt get the 1st pick. Either that or we have the second coming of flash since j will in young money

we gotta except this and move on even though it sucks and reeks of the normal Nba bs, fact is there was no lebron type player in this draft but there will be good players that are available, with 3 top 31 picks we are gonna come out of this with some talent.
