Davis,
MKG,
Drummond

Davis for Dwight Howard on a long contract, although I might come to regret that.
MKG. Wouldn't trade him.
Drummond for Batum. This is one of the few deals that could land us Batum as the Blazers need young bigs.

If we get top 3 I wouldn't trade it. Lots of SF and PF/C at the top of this draft and some great defenders which we really need.

#1-3 could net a high caliber player in a trade, I would be so happy if Stern gives us the nod this year. At min you have to explore the option of a draft day trade if we pick that high Something like a #7 pick and another first rounder for our 1-3.

God no. We needs stars, not more mediocre talent.

You don't think you can get a star with a #7 pick this year and another first? Its all hypothetical of course but history has proven the best NBA talents are not always the top 3 even top 5 picks.

I think Petire would do a good job getting us the best players at those respective draft picks, but from what I have seen from the top 3 potential is they are future all-stars. We have one in Cousins, possibly one in Tyreke, but that is a big big maybe. And then a bunch of bench players. We need one more star. Imagine if Thorton was our 6th man, a role he would excel at.

Lets take the #1 pick out of the equation and 2-5 gets a little more risky. Im not arguing the fact the draft is heavy this year with players ready for the next level im just trying to get across if we end up with 2-5 you have to at least see what other teams put on the table.

The number 1 pick is Anthony Davis. He's going to be an impact player on any team he joins. I'm not saying I wouldn't trade him, but it would have to be one great deal, with a major player involved. Davis is a very very special player, and I couldn't describe a better player to put next to Cousins. So to my mind, the number 1 pick is almost untouchable.

At number 2, I'm going to surprise some people and go with Harrison Barnes. He's ready to step in and play right now. He's also a good, but not great defender. He should only get better.

At number 3, I'm going with Michael Gilchrist. As with Barnes, he can help right away, and his defense is outstanding. He's also an outstanding athlete. Only weakness is his outside shot.

In all honesty, I wouldn't be lookiing to trade any of these three spots. Any of those three players is going to start and potentially be a star in the NBA. But I would entertain offers. Never say never!

What if we fall outside the top 5 with our pick? I'm assuming Davis, Barnes, Gilchrist, Drummond, and Robinson are the first 5 to go. Who do we take?

Would you try to make a deal to trade back with the Jazz and possibly get their two first rounders? We could possibly take a combo of Henson and T Jones to fill the PF and SF spot or is there still a player you really prefer at #6 for this team?

Harrison Barnes must have made a quantum leap from last year to rocket to #2. What's changed?

Much more aggressive in just about every facet of his game. He's more than willing to take the shot with the game on the line. He's just had a very good year. Hey, I was one of his biggest critics last season. I do love Michael Gilchrist though.

I think Gilchrist is years away from being ready to start in the NBA. He's just awkward out there on the floor, especially on offense.

I like Anthony Davis and Drummond to pair with Cousins. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

If thats the top five, then the next best player in my opinion is Jeremy Lamb, who is a SG, probably followed by Bradley Beal, another SG. All depends on the picking teams needs of course. So Yeah, I'd be willing to do that trade. Not sure Utah would. I like Henson, but I'm not excited about him the same way I'am Davis, so I'd have to think about it a little. But with the second 1st round pick, I still like Jeffery Taylor for the SF Position. He's a great athlete, and a terrific defender, probably second to only Gilchrist in that area. If Vandy goes far in the tournament, you can expect Taylor to rise up the draft boards. And he'll knock it out of the park at the combine. Not to mention, he's a very good shooter.

Hey, if you want to really improve our defense with those picks, take Terrence Jones and Taylor. Play Jones at the PF spot.

What if we just trade the pick all together? Obviously it would have to be on draft day because of the restricitons on the pick. I would trade it for a big that could fit next to Cousins. McGee could work. I'm not sure if the Wizards would do that straight up, but it's possible. Their team has been performing terribly this year and it would be nice to pair a top 5 pick and a top 10 pick in a strong draft with Wall. They could grab Drummond and Lamb and be on their way to a good team.

Wall/Crawford/Mack
Lamb/Young
Singleton/Lewis
Booker/Vesely/Blatche
Drummond/Seraphin

They could try and move Young (one of the most selfish players in the league) and Blatche (has made it known that he is not happy to be there) to pick up another decent player. Then when Lewis comes off the books they will have a lot more money to work with. Lastly Vesely will hopefully keep progressing and become the player they hope they took at #6 overall.

This team has a lot of potential. Wall, Lamb, Singleton, and Drummond are all very athletic and above average defenders which would make it tough for opponents.

The thing is I'm not sure if it's possible to make this deal considering McGee is a restricted free agent after this season. I'm not sure how that works with trading a restricted player. We might have to do a sign and trade.

If we make this trade, amnesty Salmons, and sign Hinrich and Chandler/Kirilenko, our team would look like this:

Hinrich/Thomas/Fredette
Evans/Thornton
Chandler/Garcia/Honeycutt/Outlaw
McGee/Thompson
Cousins/Hayes/Whiteside

I feel like that second unit could be one of the best in the league.

McGee is the dumbest player in the NBA, I wouldn't even take him for free.

I would love to make deals with you :p

He wouldn't be the focal point on this team. He doesn't need to be the smartest player on the team (even though that wouldn't hurt). We are asking him to rebound, block shots, get put backs, and use his athleticism on the fastbreak. We are not asking him to be a low post presence where the ball is in his hands and force him to make deicisons with the ball. I see no reason why he wouldn't be a great fit next to Cousins. Besides he is still a young kid. He still has time to mature and gain more experience which will help improve his basketball IQ.
