I'm not unless we break up the alleged core to compensate.

Garcia fits our system. Unfortunately he cannot play outside of it.

As I understand it, this is who the Kings wanted but were not sure he would still be available. Now, according to the media, his defense is not that great. They say that he is a great perimeter shooter and can definatley shoot the three. I don't know much about the guy so I don't know.

He's not much of an athlete, and disappeared against the best college teams. In general agaisnt any team with a defender to get inside his shirt. Very much like Peja and the rest of our guys. Can't play unless you run all sorts of picks for him.

You won't solve defensive problems with one player. But he is a LONG, solid defender, a good passer, great FT shooter, and ATHLETIC. This is a GREAT pick considering it's at #23

I watched Garcia live, and he is a good defender very similar to Christie. He reads the passing lanes and is excellent at ball denial. He can be posted up by bigger guys, but he's tall and athletic, so that won't happen often. Excellent pick. He will thrive in any system we run. His athleticism and ball-handling ability will insure that.

Will he start?? Next season. I wouldn't think so.

And yes this may spell trouble for Matt Barnes, if hes brought back, and maybe Kevin Martin

Garcia is NOT that great an athelete. Everyone sees the size and assumes, but its not true. The Reggie comparisons are apt in that regard.

He fits our system. He at least cares. He's not shutting down anybody int he NBA, and lacks the physical skills to maybe ever do ti really.

I've never been sold on Special Ed, so this is a good choice I think. Seems to have a little more meat on his bones - a little more toughness. I'm down with this pick. They can trade for size - no need to go after some longshot euro prospect and end up with Shawn Bradley.

Simien would have been a Corliss Williamson duplicate. Since we have the real guy - why go get another 6-9 undersized PF?

Good pick Geoff!

Vehemently disagree. He's a solid athlete. He's not going to dunk on any NBA centers, but he's very quick and has a great first step. Disappeared against best college teams? He had an outstanding NCAA tournament. Who would you have preferred? It's a little early for a guy like Turiaf, and you better not say Simien after leveling the disappearing charge against Garcia.

I like Garcia. I think he will be a good fit for our system. Not sure what this means for Evans and Martin though. Not sure what this means about us seeking a offguard in FA either. Should be interesting.

He's just a less talented Peja at OG. He'll start. We'll score a lot. But he duplicate what we already have. Need change of pace players.
