Scott Brooks is, if anything, the anti-Musselman. There were rumors last season that at times Musselman wouldn't even talk to him. So, he's not tainted with the stench of the previous adminstration, so to speak.

To pick up on what Brick said; kinda like during the Clinton impeachment when Gore was hardly talking to Bubba.
 
Let's hire Theus with Larry Drew, Mike Woodson and Jim Les as his assistants. Then, bring back LaSalle Thompson to co-host "House Party Live" with Jim Kozimor, and hire Eddie Johnson to pair up with Gary Gerould on the Kings Radio Network. Oh what a glorious reunion it would be!!!!!

Hey, it all might work except Mike Woodson would probably not want to be an assistant here since he just renewed contract as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. Jim Les might not be available either as an assistant since he's doing quite well coaching Bradley Univ. The rest of the crew seems fairly doable:rolleyes:

Not at all. Brooks is pretty much universally liked. Having been a player and a coach at several different levels, including three years as an assistant to George Karl, Brooks immediately garners more respect than Musselman could ever muster.

While I don't know the details, I do believe Musselman might actually have resented at one point the rapport Brooks had with the players.

Hardly. But unless I am mistaken they were three years spent as an underling, not a #1. You certianly do NOT leave a position as George Karl's #1 (which I would imagine is Doug Moe) to go become Muss's #1. So they were T.R. Dunn years. Which is nice and all, but in general unless I am missing something the closest that Scott Brooks ever came to being a head coach was last year, and it was a real failure. And the being "friends" with the players could be a good sign, or it might hardly matter. That's the radical change when a guy goes from sidelkick to main man. He can't be everybody's friend, he has to carry out the discipline, aportion the minutes, etc. He can't play white hat to the unpopular coach's black hat.

Ron Jeremy still gets work in the business as a bit of a novelty act, doubt there's much work around for Peter North these days though.
 
Our next coach should be Bricklayer I'm pretty sure hes a upgrade to anything thats out there.

wow kings suck. sorry but were not a winning team now and wont be for awhile. no one wants to be here. so long #1 and #2 coaching choices. althought with our luck rambis will still wanna coach here and well like i've said before hes a joke. but maybe we can get in the lotto next year and grab the 9th pick with our luck. oh well what a way to start the dat

Kings draft Douby over all the other now proven PGs. and appears to be a huge project

no new arena coming

Artest hits his wife around,and lowers his trade value to about zero through out the year

Miller sucks so bad its offical hes not getting traded only gettin worse by the day

Kenny Thomas acts like such a punk that the kings stop playing him and peace him out for the year early

kings beat clippers tie with 3 other teams for 7-10 in draft

kings lose tie breaker end up with 10th pick

portland gets #1 .... sigh what could have been

Gibson blows up for Cle. so much for the bibby trade

Billy D. ruins are one shot at a good coach

SVG shows us all that one look at sacramento will send anyone packing now a days. althought the kings can be used to get your pay check higher with the team you actualy want to coach.

say all you will about hope and the young guys on are team. but chances are we will have to incude one or more of them into trades with are over paid/ breaking down players.

my guess. is nothing but more sad days ahead and add 2 more years to the rebuild

Sounds like SVG did the same thing to the Kings that he did to the Pacers.

He has multiple interviews, brings his wife across country to look into neighborhoods, starts acting like he's ready to sign a contract and then.........The word out of Indiana is that when SVG got to the decision point he said he wanted to interview at other places while keeping the possibility of still signing with the Pacers. Larry Bird said thanks but no thanks and looked elsewhere.

It's not the end of the world.

Petrie knows this is one of the most important off-seasons of his career. I have confidence in him. I see us landing another 1st rounder as well as making a couple decent trades.
 
I dont get it!

Why do u guys care so much about not getting SVG. What is his track record? going to the WCF with shaq and wade? couldn't any decent coach do that?
 
Smart man. I was wondering why he would concider Sacramento over Orlando. Dwight Howard and co. or Artest and co. Seems like a no brainer.

SVG did an excellent job with a young team the year before Shaq arrived.

I completely agree. Let's say Brooks or Rambis went 43-39, or hell, even 42-40 next year. Wouldn't that be seen as a rousing success after what expectations were for this season, and the Musselman hangover? Well, van Gundy took a solid draft pick, a crafty trade, and clever cap room management and made it work. But how is it any different than what Skiles, D'Antoni, and others have done? Don't forget- van Gundy has won just as many Championships as those guys above- 0. Coaches, for whatever reason, seem to pop up at the right moments for each franchise. Take Nate McMillan in POR. Who in God's name would have seen him there 4 years ago? Well how great does the decision to be there look now, and how happy must Portland be to have him embedded there with a familiarity of both team and front office?

We'll be fine. Petrie is a realist, and likely saw this coming. Expect Rambis or Brooks in here by the end of the week, and expect them to do within about 4 games as well as anyone else we could have brought in.
