I stated prior to the draft that Thabeet wasn't ready to play in the NBA, and that I didn't know if he would ever be ready. He came to basketball late, with little basketball knowledge. At UCONN they were able hide his deficiences by just letting him stand in the paint and play goalie. You can't get away with that in the NBA. Apparently he has a very slow learning curve, and at this point, I'm very sceptical he'll ever be anything more than a part time bench player, if that!. I wouldn't trade JT for two Thabeets at this time. JT at minumun is a solid bench player, and possible starter.
Hibbert is a nice player, but not the type of player we need at this time. He's not very mobile, slow to rotate, and suffers in isolation defensively away from the basket. He is however a decent post defender. I wouldn't mind having him on the team, but the price would be too high for what we would get in return.
