Roster spots.

Where are we currently on roster spots?
Centers: Sabonis, Eubanks, Raynaud
PF: Murray, Saric, Jones
SF: DeRosan, Clifford,
SG: LaVine, Ellis, TD
PG: Dennis, Monk, Carter

I think we have one open spot left depending if they give Raynaud a contract.

Hopefully they leave something open in case someone in summer league shines. Maybe if Crawford can show out he gets a legit deal.

Today, SG Duncan Robinson got traded by Miami and SG Pat Connaughton (who I've never heard of) was traded away by the Bucks. If these moves create potential trading partners for Malik, it could definitely open up that roster spot.

So if Bucks want Monk they could trade us Kuzma money close

That way Kuzma could do absolutely nothing for Kings just like he did nothing for the Bucks

lol

So with Raynaud getting a guaranteed two year deal I removed TD and put Clifford in his more natural SG spot.

We currently stand at 13 guaranteed deals plus TD I believe unless @Capt. Factorial corrects me again.

Very reluctantly and very painfully, I'm coming around to accepting the need to trade Malik (DDR's a no brainer). We aren't really building towards anything and our young guys will never develop without a lot of burn.

Seems the offer for Kuminga was Carter. But again really hard to trade small for big.

The Kings and Wizards have the most momentum of the bunch, Slater reports. Sacramento offered a package of Devin Carter, Dario Šarić and two second-round picks, but the Warriors were not receptive to the perceived buy-low move. Washington, meanwhile, put its hat in the ring Thursday and is a surging contender to land Kuminga as a key piece in its rebuild.

Kuminga isn't the missing piece to a championship. He would definitely make us better in the short term (and maybe longer), but if the Wizards want to overpay, let them. He's at most the difference between a 10 seed and an 8 seed. We either need to rework the roster to go higher or lower, but most of us are not in the mood to tread water.

Not certain Washington bowed out with the recent Houston trade

Draft guard and big (Clifford and Max)
Trade for guard and big (Dennis and Saric)
Sign two-way players guard and big (Stevens and Cardwell)
Sign a big and likely another guard (Eubanks and W.brick)

Seems to be a pattern here.

There are small players, there are tall players, we were hoping for medium-sized players under the new GM. You know, like an actual wing!

No? Ok, just asking. We haven't had one in so long we really wouldn't know what they look like or wjat to do with them.

To be fair with a late draft pick and 2nd rounders you should be getting guards and bigs because you can find good ones late.

The problem is you can’t easily trade small for big wings so the Monte era (Vivek was part of it) where we traded:
* Haliburton for an Undersized big
* Drafting Davion with the 9th pick
* Drafting Carter with the 13th pick
* Fox for another 6’5” guard.

All these were missed opportunities to get the hardest position to acquire in sports. You just can’t stack 2 guards and easily move them for big wings as we are seeing with Carter. Too often people have said work it out later and it’s a lot harder than people get.
