The new CBA has a wrinkle in the roster size requirement. For now teams must carry 13 contracts minimumon their active roster and 15 max. But after Feb 6 they can only carry 13 maximum on the roster but only 12 can be active. So for now minimum of 13 contracts as of 25 December.
Soooo, who compose the Kings roster now? Not counting Adrian Oliver and Lawrence Hill, rookies from San Jose State and Stanford respectively, the Kings have 14 contracts:
Cousins
Evans
Fredette
Garcia
Greene
Hayes
Hickson
Honeycutt
Outlaw
Salmons
Thomas
Thompson
Thornton
Whiteside
So for now they are ok. But they are still $1M below the minimum salary required. So as "Circa_1985_Fan" says over on the Personnel moves forum, "I do believe something's up...." I now agree but who would be the 13? Who is odd man out? Maybe Honeycutt to D-League? Or a 2-for-1 trade? Let the fun begin.
